dance to the rhythm of your heartbeat

Enjoying the still warm tea that was regrettably almost entirely gone from that fine porcelain cup, the blue-eyed blonde woman does her best to try and dismiss that innate want to tell the first friendly face she'd met in Sacrosanct what had really happened that night. She finds that she is having to repeatedly assure herself that it wasn't really lying per say. Everything she'd told him about the nature of her first having met Andras in the depths of that wood in the dark when any logical human being would have been content to simply remain restless in their homes was true. It had been energetic, in a vague sense of the word but still all the same it had been quite the occurrence that had left her feeling nothing but utter bliss when she'd sunk into those covers afterwards when she'd returned home. Yes, her camera had in fact been a victim of that "energetic" photoshoot when she'd dared to press that shutter button, the abolsute and most poor choice she could have made in that moment but she hadn't been able to ignore that frightened bewilderment at seeing Andras there in that tree with those bat-like appendages that she never would have dreamt of seeing in real life save for on those furred creatures that fed on blood while others' diets consisted of fruits. So really, in a way, she was still being truthful about that night... she simply tip-toed around the exact details that weren't really being asked of. She found herself hopeful that Dorian would not pose such a question before her then because she had no intentions of divulging the fact that she'd seen those wings of Andras'. Surely he knew entirely well of that once startling feature the dark fae man carried and hid so very well, or at least she imagined that he did. After all, Dorian was also fae, so why would Andras not reveal them to their mutual companion that they shared this afternoon with? She decides not to ask on that matter for fear that it might just prompt more questions about that night between she and Andras from the kind man that sat with them. Besides, such things were not any business of her own and she was content to leave that question unspoken for now. Just maybe there would come another time that Beylani might ask the two fae men of how their relationship had started, unable to shake the idea that they've known one another for quite some time now.

Reaching for that fork again to finish the final piece for that lemon tart before retrieving another small cake from the golden cake platters before the threesome and placing the decadent pastry onto her plate, she is almost able to completely cast aside the matter of how she'd come across the fae man, lifting that fork again to break off a small piece to taste it. What she doesn't expect though was that as he crossed an ankle of his knee, was for that next string of words to add to the remark that Beylani had offered Dorian. Almost at the same time as Dorian seemed to nearly drop his tea cup, she feels that fork slip from her fingers with a small clank at it landed on the plate. Baby blue eyes snap over the the dark fae, wide in surprise and disbelief that he would dare to offer such a thing to Dorian who certainly didn't seem the type to bring up such things at the table with companions. Why would he say that!?! She feels those fair-skinned cheeks grow warm with that flush that colors them when she turns to hear Dorian's own shock ushered forth in response to what Andras wanted to make him believe. She turns to the clearly flustered and bewildered man then in time to catch him giving her a surprised look, and she gives a firm shake of her head as the silver gaze of Dorian moves back to Andras before continuing to say how it was entirely their business. There was no business, though and she shoots Andras a defiant look before turning back to Dorian."No, no, no. I assure you we were both fully clothed!", she hurriedly goes on to reassure Dorian then. The last thing the young woman wanted him to think of her as was some sort of uncivilized creature with no sense of what was publicly acceptable. She'd only done one thing so bold before and it hadn't even been her decision then. Back in high school though, the peer pressure from her past friends found Beylani skinny dipping beneath the moonlight one summer night, and there was no fondness to be felt or found in this memory that rose to the surface at the very idea of being without clothes around a man she'd only just met not long ago. Unbidden, her thoughts toy with her then as she tries to imagine such a thing with Andras, but she is quick to shove the idea away. There was no denying that she could only guess at the sinew that hid well beneath those finer fabrics of the slacks and jacket he wore now, but why on earth would she even think to try and undress him in her mind?!

It couldn't be clearer that Andras reveled in getting a rise out of not only Beylani, but Dorian as she noticed that wicked grin that etched itself into those chiseled features and she can't help but wonder what other bold notions he might dare to try and conjure up. She said relieved when Dorian seems to truly believe that such a thing would have happened, and she is finally able to shake her own shock as she retrieves her fork once more, lifting it to her lips as she takes another delighted mouthful of that perfect sweetness. She definitely hoped that there would be more afternoons like this. She enjoyed how bring with Dorian seemed to take her back to a time lost in the world's past, finding it to be quite enjoyable and endearing though perhaps Andras shouldn't be there for the next time... The dark fae man seemed to take a little too much enjoyment in seeing what else he could do to get a reaction out of either herself or the other fae man. She listens to the exchanges that happen between the two men, unable to hide that amused smile that dances across blush-colored lips as Dorian seems all too capable of countering Andras in those bold and brazen remarks that the dark fae man took pleasure in giving their gracious host. Yes, they surely had some deeper degree of history that existed between those teasing and witted words and though she was beginning to find herself ever more curious about just how they'd come across one another and what might have led to what she could only guess was a friendship or maybe even just some sense of mutual respect for one another at the very least, but still she remains politely silent as the two men talk amongst themselves for a moment. The conversation shifts then the wedding and those seating arrangements and is silently thankful that Andras was content with Beylani sitting beside him at what was sure to be a spectacular event she would never again have the opportunity to be a part of, though she certainly doesn't miss that teasing in his voice as those predatory hazel depths shift to her. She wanted to make some sort of clever remark, but she knew deep down that he was right. Knowing how her luck usually was, she'd end up lost somehow. Her attention ships to Dorian then as he speaks fondly of his home again and she smiles warmly the him."I can't wait to see it all. I'm sure I'll probably never get another chance like this again, or at least not for a very long time so I'll certainly make the most of this", she replies brightly. When would she ever get a chance like this, traveling to a whole new country overseas for the opportunity to capture all that she could only ever dream to? Maybe never again, so she had every intention of enjoying what she could, though she would definitely need to her new boss know about the impending trip and likely need for extra hours at the café.

Surprise is bright on her features when Dorian speaks of packs, and she doesn't even know where to begin gathering her thoughts again. All this time, she'd grown up being told that her childish imaginings of such beings were nothing but that of old lore, no truth there to be found and yet here she was with two fae men, and quickly being given thrown into a reality where there was more than she could have managed to discover on her own. Andras is quick to speak then as the look of confusion finds Dorian's features that then shift to something of a gentle and apologetic nature before he nods in agreement to Andras' attempts to try and ease the clearly surprised young woman that wasn't quite sure what to think. How many times had she walked past someone on the streets thinking them to be as human as she was only to be so terribly wrong? How many strangers had she smiled at or greeted warmly that were something that had been beyond her understanding then? Andras if the first of the men to try and ease her further while those thoughts of hers threaten to overwhelm her as she tries to collect everything she'd considered make believe until now. Her baby blue eyes lingers upon him as he offers her a breif explanation that only creates more questions though when Dorian adds to those words in his own attempt to help the young woman understand this world she'd been living in unknowingly, her gaze only widens further as the fae man speaks of beings called Dark Hunters and how their purpose was to, as their name implied, hunt others. Were humans included in the 'us' that left Dorian's lips? Or were those beings only after other supernaturals? Before she can be swallowed by fear, he said quick to assure her that not all beings followed in the steps expected of their kind, she is soothed though that surprise is still burning brightly in her features when he says that the owner of Inner Sanctum was one of those dark hunters... Nothing about the man has seemed unusual, and that was perhaps the most alarming thing. She is stricken into speechlessness, giving a small nod to Dorian as he assures her that Andras would help her to understand more. She is grateful for that moment when the men seem to talk amongst themselves about the packs and alphas and she doesn't even try to follow them in that moment as she works to settle herself, but it is a short-lived moment when suddenly that wicked smile of the dark fae man finds those handsome features as he now poses Beylani with a curious that takes her offguard for a moment. She feels Dorian's eyes on her now, both men seeming curious to know just what she though. Baby blues shift between them then as she tries to gather exactly what it was that she thought, not that she entirely knew herself right now."Well, considering you two are the first that I've met, that I know of anyway, I'd venture to say that your kind certainly seems pleasant and friendly. After all, you two are among the first I've met since moving to Sacrosanct and I have yet to come across a rude faerie, at least I think so...", she answers gently, her words honest even as she eyes Andras at the mention of friendliness. While their first encounter had been far less than friendly at first, she was beginning to see beyond that night only to find a charming man that had a curious knack for flustering those around him."Although all the children's books I've ever been read always seem to portray faeries as much... smaller", she adds almost sheepishly. When she thought of faeries, the very first images her mind brought forth were that of Tinkerbell, but she leaves that small part out. Obviously all those children's books had been wrong, in more ways that just one.
