you were the answer to my dreams

It wasn't often that the Englishman truly stepped into the kitchen with the intention of actually making something other than a cup of tea. That lack of need for food had often rendered that room near useless for him and yet, tonight he had ventured beyond the norms if only for Dorian's sake. That warm chuckle that left the King's lips was surely worth the effort of that hot cocoa, his own features brightened at that teasing sound. "I do...and, as it turns out...I do. Aren't you lucky?" He inquired, that playfulness quite clear as he set those cups before the Monarch, only to move around that desk whilst Dorian so unceremoniously took a glob of whipped cream from the top of that beverage. He watched as his lover placed his finger within his mouth, clearly savoring that creamy taste. Sebastian leaned down, his lips pressing gingerly against his fiance's own, this kiss far more fleeting than even he would have liked to have stolen from the man and yet, he was trying to be good about that distraction from the far more important concerns of that Spanish country. It was the very consideration of that place that had monopolized the King's attention of late that prompted the vampire to inquire after how that affair with what was rightfully Dorian's land was going.

That small frown upon the Monarch's features certainly told him all that he needed to know and yet, the vampire watched with raised eyebrows as Dorian reached over to turn off both that computer monitor and that cell phone altogether. Clearly, Catalonia had been far more stressful of late then even Sebastian had anticipated. Despite that brush of concern, the vampire said little of his lover's decision for tonight, entirely willing to take all of Dorian's attention for his own. All the same, he still found himself considering that poor Emma and her proneness to overreacting at her inability to reach the fae King. He could hardly help that small shake of his head at that mention of Emma's tendency to resort to calling every cellular device within the household if she failed to reach the Monarch himself. "You have to admit she is thorough." He responded with a small shrug, the corners of his lips tilted upwards all the same to mirror Dorian's own. Sebastian certainly didn't fault his lover's personal assistant. At the very least she was excellent at keeping track of the man, not that Sebastian had truly let him out of his own presence for very long to begin with ever since he'd moved in nearly a year ago.

He watched as Dorian slumped in that chair, only to inquire as to that guest list that Sebastian had struggled with for near weeks now. He moved ever so slight closer to that small touch of their legs, the vampire was almost proud to announce that he had finally completed that list. The sheer number of his own guests was all but overwhelming, and though he understood well that number behind Dorian's own guest list, it still baffled him all the same that so many individuals would wish to see his wedding, particularly when his last marriage had consisted of no more than a hundred individuals. Such was certainly what came with exchanging vows with royalty, a prospect he still found himself getting used a year later. Even so, he had hardly forgotten what the last Royal wedding in England had been like, those streets near flooded with the public wishing to catch a glimpse of their monarch's. It was that memory that prompted him to mention the probability of such occurring on the streets of Naples all the same. It was that mention of gifts however, that caused a glimpse of surprise to cross his features. "Already? We haven't even gotten married yet!" It was astounding, to say the least, they were going to need to order a rather large amount of 'thank you' cards at this rate.

That sudden smirk upon Dorian's features, however, at the sheer mention of assisting with those gifts. He remembered all too easily his last attempt to help, his eyebrow raising ever so slightly. "Don't even tempt me, Dorian." Sebastian commented, altogether aware of how easy it would be to lose himself within his lover's figure. God, the man was damn near tempting, particularly when he had gone without his fiance for the past few days. Fortunately, any action he might have taken was interrupted not only by that declaration of that need for an official date but also the scrambling feet of that overexcited puppy. That appearance of that sock within the puppy's mouth, however, certainly caught the vampire off guard and yet, he hardly saw fit to intervene with Maxwell's attempt to play. After all, it was just a sock and they had been rather slow on getting all of the necessary things the poor puppy required - like toys. He could hardly help that simper upon his features as he watched the fae King tug at the other end of that sock with the dog. He supposed it was inevitable, that teething surely would cause several more of his garments to become near shreds in the days to come. That mention of books, however, caused his gaze to shift upwards. "Books, huh?" He inquired, that grin traced his features. He really should not have been surprised, really.

Rather, Sebastian returned to that topic of their wedding and that decision of their wedding date. As much as he hated to admit it, the vampire was rather limited in his choice of a particular date if only for his inability to be within the sun for any period of time. Those colder, longer nights were surely necessary for the length of that wedding and yet, still he found himself fretting over the comfort of the public rather than himself. He had almost forgotten, truly, of how tame those Naple winters were in comparison to his own homeland and yet, still he found himself hesitating all the same. It was only with Dorian's reassurance that their sheer body heat would certainly keep them all warm that lessened that concern, albeit but slightly. It was Maxwell's decided victory of that game that prompted him to lean down and pat the head of that rather pleased canine. Slowly, he bent upwards, watching Dorian as he studied that calendar only to announce those options of their union. A small shrug crossed the Englishman's shoulders, the vampire had particularly little preference as to when, if only for the simple fact that Dorian was willing enough to compromise for his own request for that winter wedding. "Whichever you prefer, ma Bichette, though if you'd rather February, we'll have to make those final choices on the invitations soon to ensure they get sent out this month." After all, it was rather important they still followed that three month invitation wedding etiquette, royal or not.

He hardly expected the sudden outreach of Dorian's hand, the vampire willing to depart with that dwindling cup of hot chocolate only to place his own hand within his fiance's. A soft chuckle left his lips at that mention of Catalonia, as if the country was there watching through that screen and paperwork somehow and yet, Sebastian certainly was not inclined to encourage the Monarch to stay within that office any longer than necessary. "The sofa is far more comfortable than your chair." He commented, as if to further tempt the King from that office, not, that he suspected any further coaxing was truly necessary. "Come on, Maxwell." Sebastian called to that puppy, leading both the fae and that accompanying dog out of that room and into the living room below.
