you were the answer to my dreams

The concept of wedding gifts was certainly not new to the Englishman. After all, his own wife had come with a rather sizeable dowry and yet, the traditions of his own youth certainly did not consist of cities. Still, Sebastian supposed the concept was rather similar really. A city was to a dowry what a kingdom was to an inheritance. The first was merely the precedence that came from the act marriage, while the latter was given in the event of the betrothed death. Sebastian, however, despised even considering the fae Monarch in even the same thought as such a thing as death. The vampire was entirely determined to ensure they were given the entirety of that infinity that existed before them - together. This, though entirely...surprising, hardly invoked the same emotions within the man as that discussion of their soon to be shared last name. Even so, Sebastian still found himself staring with an almost blank look upon his features as his mind processed the enormity of that gift. A city - an entire city meant to be his all because of that unyielding love he had for the member of that royal household.

Slowly, the vampire shifted away from the King, his grip on the man loosening to allow Dorian to turn to face him far more than he had allowed the man before. That sheepish look hardly went unnoticed by the vampire and yet, he could hardly help that doubt within his voice as he repeated just what he had understood. A city. A whole city. An established city. One of the largest in france, oddly enough, and it was to become his? It was almost natural, that consideration of what he was capable of providing in return, even if he knew well that such wedding presents hardly worked in such a fashion. After all, dowries were given with the simple expectation that the husband would provide for and care for his new young wife. Though Sebastian had naturally taken such role with ease in his own relationship with the Italian ruler, Dorian hardly needed him. The wealth of the crown was certainly...astounding, to say the least. Dorian's properties were far more vast than his own. A small frown crossed his lips in consideration and yet, it was Dorian's assurance that he hardly needed to accept that city, even in spite of that tradition, that prompted the vampire to finally respond to that generous gift.

Traditions, he knew well, were important to them both, that intense consideration they'd both given to that last name showed such well enough. It hardly would do for him to deny such a present for that reason alone, even if the man was almost hesitant to accept if only for the level of care that a city surely must require - right? Maybe. It had been lordless for several hundreds of years at this point. Surely it had learned to get along just fine without requiring much oversight. That almost playful nickname for that city left his lips with an almost newfound fondness of sorts, that title almost fitting really, considering the pair's history with bugs at large. Nevertheless, it was with that acceptance that the man inquired after what exactly would be required of him upon taking that role of the Lord of Caterpillar land. That assurance that it would hardly require much effort at all from the man, however was readily accepted. This hardly sounded all that awful. That title of position seemed largely more...ceremonial than anything else. Even so, Sebastian found himself wanting to visit that very city that was now destined to be his own.

Sebastian nodded in agreement to that idea of seeing the city and the Chateau that came with it. He was hardly oblivious of the way his lover's voice so trailed off, those eyebrows rose ever so slightly at that faux glimpse of contemplation upon Dorian's features. "Yes?" He prompted the man after a moment. Those words that followed truly should have been expected and yet, Sebastian could hardly help that roll of those blue eyes all the same. "The Chateau doesn't need to meet me, don't be daft." The man responded in an almost pouting voice, a small huff on his lips before he eyed the King for a moment, only to admit that…maybe Dorian was right. "I am sure it would like to be lived in though...for a little bit." He commented, his gaze turning away from the King as he fell so expectedly into that role of affection for those inanimate forgotten things. The poor home had gone without for so long! That was, surely, what homes were for, to be lived in! They needed purpose! Still, the prospect of visiting that home, and that city, was wholly pleasing to the vampire all the same.

That comment of his like of that gift prompted a small smile upon his features, his head bobbed ever so slightly. "I do, thank you...for everything." He muttered softly, those words meant for far more than just that city Dorian had offered him. It was for that last time, for that city, for those titles...for all of it. Sebastian was all too willing to return that genteel kiss he was offered, that firm press upon his chest caused him to slowly lean backwards upon that sofa. It was no secret that the Englishman adored that taste of his lover, of more than just that taste of his lips. That distinct passion was all too easily returned as Sebastian's lips once again met Dorian's own, the vampire willing to show the man just how much he had missed him. He was almost remiss, as Dorian pulled away from him, the man not yet ready to release his lover. That soft press of Dorian's lips against his jawline, however, immediately drew his gaze towards the man. He was entirely willing to embrace those glimpses of affection, that sensation drew a soft groan from the vampire's own lips, that want readily blossoming within him in the anticipation of what surely would come after.

That mischievous glint to his fiancé's eyes could hardly be ignored, that idle comment of that assistance Dorian required prompted an almost wicked grin upon his features. "Oh I think I can help with this." He commented, that tone holding that touch of huskiness those British lyrics tended to gain when his thoughts turned to those far more physical tasks. He shifted beneath the man, entirely intending to lead that way up those stairs and into the safety of their own bedroom. Sebastian fully intended to ensure that his fiancé found his satisfaction more than once tonight - that physical pleasure he was capable of bringing the man was surely the best sort of thanks he could offer for that gift he could never repay.

Sebastian Ellington
