    Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawethorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three story townhouses, often with a one to two car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces.

death incarnate & night triumphant

His name on her lips has him crumpling to the ground before her, devastation written across his face as he hesitantly reaches out to touch her and then removes his hand altogether. Andras isn’t able to drop his hand to the ground before Lani is reaching out, grasping at his bloodied hand. Obliging her, he squeezes her fingers between his own gently before he notes how very cold she was. Alarmed, his nostrils flare as panic begins to creep across his typically calm mask. Her stammered words push the Fae into action; leaning forward he scoops her gently into his arms, the blood from the vampire now coating them both, as he presses her small body to his bare chest. Careful not to jostle her too much, he stands and manages to tuck her head beneath his chin to protect her body from the wind. “I know, I know,” he coos softly in her ear wrapping his arms around her as much as possible. Brows are drawn into a frown as he wished he hadn’t destroyed his jacket in the process of retrieving Lani, though, there wasn’t much he could do now.

Tightening his grip on her, he flares those bat like wings, “Hang on, it’s going to get even colder for just a moment. You need to trust me,” he murmurs in her ear quietly, entirely unaware if she could actually hear him or not. Launching himself into the sky, he’s thankful for the moonless night as he travels quickly into the air, his wings beating silently behind them. Once he’s no longer visible by the supernatural eye, he summons that power from within, calling upon it until shadows wrap around them, squeezing them as if there was no air left to breathe and then there is a cracking sound that echoes through their ears and they are free falling into a winterized landscape. Flaring his wings, he slows their descent and rockets across the freezing sky, pressing Lani to his chest to shield her from the cold as much as possible. Tilting his wings down, he shoots for a lodge nestled within in the forest and he slows just as he is about to land, he’s feet touching gently to the porch.

Striding forward with such urgency, he breezes through the door kicking it shut with a foot and making his way towards the massive fireplace at the center of the room. It roars to life as he walks by, carefully setting Lani on the couch for only a brief moment while he retrieves a plush white blanket which he wraps her in to ward off the cold. Picking her unconscious body up once more, he maneuvers through the massive lodge, climbing stair after stair until he reaches the final flight and enters a room. His room. The bedroom consisted of a large bed, big enough to accommodate his wings and perhaps multiple people, his own fireplace blooms to life at the end of the room as he moves pass a hallway to the adjoining bathing area. For the moment, he ignores everything except for the woman in his arms and the heat that rose quickly to near sweltering. Moving across the room with such grace, he gently places her on the bed and pulls the covers over her. He needed to get her warm as soon as possible, the Fae could see the tinge of blue upon her lips.

Stepping away from the bed, he watches her, dark eyes traveling to those bite wounds upon her neck has the promise of death swirling about his features again. Staggering backwards, he falls into a heap onto the chair next to the bed, his wings flaring out on either side of the back, drooping to the ground. He doesn’t have the energy to properly hold those appendages up, his stamina entirely drained after opening the door to this world. Running a hand through his hair, his usual smooth locks are tousled, as if he had just woken up. Letting his hand drop back down, he inspects the blood momentarily as it begins to fleck off of him. He should bathe yet he was terrified of leaving the woman alone, lest she slip farther into that darkness called death. Allowing his hearing to entirely focus on her beating heart, he listens to the weak flutter but there is life within her. His frame is stiff as those predatory eyes focus on her, monitoring her breathing. He would remain here the whole night, listening, watching, protecting, he wouldn’t allow this woman to die because of an error he made.

Again, he runs his hand through his hair again, those brown locks in disarray as he shifts his gaze towards those ceiling to floor glass windows watching the winter storm howl through the forest outside. His face turns haggard at the energy he had spent, sleep attempting to drag him under again and again though he manages to keep those eyes peeled open. Even as that storm ceases to exists and the sun slowly creeps over the mountains, touching the snowy landscape with its morning rays, still, he doesn’t allow himself to sleep.
