Even Dorian was inclined to admit that those press outside his gates were becoming a distinct problem. Sebastian and himself finding it increasingly difficult to leave their own homes and, more then that, his fiance was beginning to struggle to find his own meals when just about every person on the streets was capable of recognising him. That anonymity that so facilitated the vampires hunting all but stripped away. Sebastian unable to risk any sort of scandal with the public and as such his lover was beginning to find that hunting more and more difficult. Dorian capable of sustaining his companion for only so long. That simple lack of privacy, too, was becoming a more and more significant issue and yet, hopefully once the utter madness of the wedding had died down those paparazzi would fall away with them and they might be allowed to return to an existence that was some semblance of normal. A part of the Monarch almost felt bad for the city itself, its streets and its residents constantly besieged by those beings trying to photograph them or interview the public. Maybe he could make a donation to….something to thank Sacrosanct for its patience these past few months. Dorian allowing that idea to pass as Raven seemed to struggle to decide just how she wanted her tea. The woman appearing decidedly flustered and rather unsure as to whether or not she could even drink it. Dorian so taking a sip off his own tea in encouragement before Raven asked after those very press.

“In Italy, yes. The law is much stricter. Unfortunately this is not my country and while I hold diplomatic immunity the only law that can be enforced is that they cannot trespass onto my property so I fear they will continue to mill about.”

That sudden query as to what was happening in February momentarily saw the Monarch blink in surprise. Dorian regarding the woman curiously then. Had she truly not seen those magazines and newspapers and television headlines? Had she not received her own invitation yet? Perhaps giving that to Tobias had not been a decidedly sound plan on his part. The boy had seemed a little unusual and yet really he supposed that hardly mattered now. Dorian merely allowing that soft smile to return to his lips before that ready chuckle found its way from his throat.

“My wedding is in February. Sebastian and I are getting married too. I did give your mate the details but I see now that perhaps this was poor judgement on my part as you clearly did not receive the information. You are invited though, of course.”

That grin found his lips once more at that simple announcement. Dorian lifting his own left hand now to turn it to display that gold and diamond wedding band he already wore even despite that ceremony not yet having taken place. Engagement rings for men, after all, were not truly the done thing. Sebastian and himself merely having given one another those wedding rings o were both before and after that ceremony. Raven’s sudden mention of that book that her mate had so grafted for her and that thanks for his own contribution readily saw that soft wave off his hand. Dorian assured such things was hardly required, not when he had enjoyed crafting that painting so very much and indeed, the idea behind it was truly touching all the same. Raven readily agreeing that the book was, indeed, a truly wonderful idea. Dorian was oblivious, in that moment, to any sense of pleasure his friend had taken from his own description off her fiance. Dorian, perhaps, one of the few beings within the world inclined to see the good in people. No matter how curious or obscure they were and even despite his own often...kingly manner. The Monarch was, at his core, predisposed in some sense to simply believing people were good. If Raven, a woman he knew to be of good character, incredible intellect and sound judgement had chosen Tobias then- so be it. There was surely a reason behind it. The woman hardly a fool and it was in that judgement alone he trusted. It was for that judgement that he had been willing to hear the man out and indeed so come to realise the fellow was rather...unique. Even despite his lack of words. Raven near flushing at his own words then before making some effort to further explain her mate. Dorian’s own head tilted slightly in curiosity.

“I fear I have never heard of this Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde but I think it would be a shame to discount him. Matteo, that is my Father, once told me that the most curious of people are usually the most worth knowing. I have lived a very long time and I think that might be one of the truest things I know. Someone without a curious sort of quirk would be boring. You shan’t ever be bored in the least and besides, curious or not- he cares for you. That was clearer to me than anything else.”

That ready grin found his lips once more. Dorian meaning those words entirely even if he had not, perhaps, understood this talk of ‘another side’ to the man she loved. Dorian distinctly unfamiliar in every sense with any sort of personality akin to that and yet- perhaps it hardly mattered. The Monarch having readily witnessed the care that man had for Raven all the same, obscurely though it had presented itself. His gaze shifted briefly from the woman then and down to the puppy at her side. Maxwell seeming decidedly content in having his ear rubbed in such a lavish fashion, Dorian inquiring instead after Raven’s own engagement story, after all, he did enjoy such things. The man rather hopeless when it came to any tales of love in any sense. The Monarch listening with a clear intrigue to that story- and what a glorious one it was! How simple and yet too how meaningful that surely was to the woman. Dorian frowning only at that suggestion her fiance had stood on one leg. Was this a modern thing? Did men no longer go to one knee? That baffled look clear upon his features.

“Is it….common for men to stand on one leg in this age?”

Had it changed? Truly he would hardly be surprised if it had. So much of the world had changed without his consent or even his knowledge and yet to balance precariously upon one leg hardly seemed an improvement on kneeling in that more formal fashion. Although, in truth, Sebastian had done neither and yet Dorian was quite sure that such rules did not apply to two men in any sense. The Monarch contemplating this as he reached for a biscuit from that tray placed before them. Dorian hardly anticipating tat sudden explosion of….pictures that seemed to dance beside his eyes, the man near jolting in surprise before he so seemed to understand just what he was seeing.

“Oh! That is very clever off you.”

He commented simply in response to that power, That grin finding his lips again at the sheer delight on Raven’s features at seeing that book. Dorian assured they needed to repaint their bedroom but perhaps he might not mention such a thing now. The Fae King readily taking delight in those images before the woman, rather magically, placed her tea cup down to show her that diamond engagement ring with its striking blue stone. The man eagerly leaning forward to take her hand in his own to examine it.

“This is very striking! It becomes you.”

His silver gaze shifted then to those engagement photos, those professional pictures of that beaming-bride-to-be a perfectly lovely thing for a woman to own, Dorian browsing through several of those shots.

“Forgive my bluntness but- your husband is a handsome man.”

His lip quirked so easily upward, Dorian quite content to offer that moment of cheek. After all, he, of all people, so surely knew what a good man looked like. Dorian entirely capable of that humour when it should strike him. His gaze resting on those pictures still.

“When are you to be married?”
