However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three story townhouses, often with a one to two car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces.

death incarnate & night triumphant

Andras hides a knowing smirk as he listens to the two women chat about him; though he pushes it to the back of his mind to save for another time to torment Lani. How delicious her pink hue cheeks had become. Instead, his dark gaze is entirely focused on the stranger at Lani’s side, the unfamiliar scent wrapping around him though he’s able to immediately place it. Not that he needed to worry about Lani, she was a human after all, he merely found it odd that she held the company of a Dark Hunter as well; considering she was also friends with more than one royalty Fae. Andras’s eyes narrow, his usual mask slipping into place as he regards the stranger with a careful look. She didn’t seem like someone who would hunt down other races and murder them; she was far too… soft. Yet, the Fae man was wary; it had been centuries since his last encounter with a Hunter and it did not end well.

The sound of Lani’s heart fills his ears as his gaze lazily returns to her, a knowing smile tugging at the corner of his lip. How he delighted in hearing her heart go from a steady beat to the pounding it currently was doing. Not that she knew he could hear it; he had yet to let her know that little tidbit on faerie hearing. His name on her lips has his wicked grin becoming slightly wider, how he loved to hear it. Such male satisfaction. Allowing his dark hazel eyes to travel up her frame, noting her clothing as well as that blush that remained on her cheeks, he tilts his head, arching a brow as if saying what were you thinking about, Lani darling. Tilting his head in greeting, he keeps an eye on the stranger though the majority of his attention remains on Lani.

Before he has time to respond, the stranger is turning towards Lani and whispering to her. Andras merely blinks, a small smile turning his lips upward. Perhaps this stranger wasn’t so bad after all. He doesn’t say anything as he steps aside and the girl dashes off and through the door, giving her a nod as he watches her go. Turning back to Lani, he smiles lazily at her, those dark eyes narrowing on her once more. “I don’t think your friend realized what she left you with,” his words hold a note of laughter, his gaze sharpening into that predatory look once more, slipping a hand into a pocket. Allowing his nostrils to flare slightly to take in her scent as she steps closer, he glances down at her, blinking at her question. Chuckling quietly, “I thought Ida told you I was a High Lord,” he states, watching her, “That is my job, meeting with my court, my inner circle, and keeping my city running smoothly,” he explains gently. “However, that’s not why I’m here.”

He offers her his arm, turning them and leading them outside into the brisk air, “You mentioned that it was your birthday back in Somnia, I’m here to take you out,” he purrs down at her, pausing on the sidewalk. “However, if you would like me to fetch your friend I’m sure she isn’t too far away,” he laughs lightly before continuing down the street. “I have a feeling you would much rather be with me than her though,” he arches a brow teasingly down at Lani as they move quickly down the sidewalk, relishing her warm touch on his arm. He found he simply could not keep his hands off of her. “I have the day planned for us, all… human things,” he says slowly, turning to look at her. “I haven’t spent much time with humans in this modernized world, so forgive me if I am lacking in that department,” his eyes dart to her features, wondering just what she was thinking.

It doesn’t take long before they reach their first destination. Pushing open the coffee shop door, it takes all his strength from wrinkling his nose as the strong scents assault his senses. He never spent much time in these blasted places, it was loud and he could never pick out a singular scent, but today… today he would do all these human things for Lani. Leading them to the counter, he looks down at her, a soft smile tugging at his lips, “Whatever she’s having,” he murmurs just loud enough for the barista to hear, though he doesn’t take his dark hazel eyes off of Lani’s face.
