Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three story townhouses, often with a one to two car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces.

Wondering Why We Bother With Love If It Never Lasts107.77.97.46Posted On December 17, 2017 at 4:10 PM by Adelaide Claire LaBelle

i'm the hero of my own story, don't need a knight in shining armor

Back on the estate tucked away in the rolling hills just outside of Paris, she never would have managed to escape those confines. Even by starlight, those gates were guarded constantly and she'd only be confronted on just what it was she was doing out so late without an escort. Sometimes it seemed like she was something precious that needed watching and protecting twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. It was almost like stepping back in time where she might have been some princess or something, but that was hardly the case. It was frustrating how stuck in times of old tradition the LaBelle family was, and perhaps if she would have told anyone other than Taylor about her father's intentions on marrying her off, they'd think she were being mellow dramatic or something. Who did that anymore, right? Well, however hard it was for even the man she trusted to truly believe that she would not weave such a foolish tale if it weren't true, she would suppose that only those who had been there to see it would not question her. She didn't need those around her to believe what she knew was true, especially since she's grown up her whole life with no one but Townsend that placed their beliefs in her. She didn't need to prove her past to anyone, didn't need to make them see the hurt that she'd never should have felt to begin with, however unintentional it all was. Here in this world, such things that she'd endured didn't seem to exist and perhaps that was what had drawn her to it most, to a place entirely unexplored and foreign to the French woman. Here, there seemed to be nothing but promises of freedom quickly followed by trials and hardships that she was more than willing to turn and face with that fire burning bright in those sage eyes as she took on every single obstacle with a readiness that could only be found in an untamed spirit prepared to do anything and everything to hold onto that freedom that she'd craved for so long. All it had taken was that very first sweet taste, that ability to figuratively stretch those wings and take to those wide open skies where anything and everything was possible if she was determined enough to chase them, and she knew that there was no going back for her. She couldn't live in that cage again, and she wouldn't. Not when she'd only just finally begun to live for herself and no one else.

Finding Taylor had been unexpected and unplanned. She hadn't been out looking from trouble so that some man could come around the corner and save her. No, she'd simply been frustrated and needed to get away from that house where even though there wasn't a thing to be found that directly reminded Adelaide of her parents, she was surrounded by what being their daughter had been able to afford her. While they certainly didn't back have their hands on her day to day life here in Sacrosanct, she still felt compelled to get away. She would never take back having the Englishman with her, not for one second despite his stubborn suspicions of the man that Adelaide had brought into their home a little more than twenty-four hours ago. It definitely didn't feel like such a short time to the dark-haired woman though as she walked through through the streets of Dupont Circle. Through all that they'd shared, through having suddenly poured out a part of her heart to him that she'd never shared with anyone else, it felt like they'd known each other for years. She could never forget all that he had confided in her, and the more that she would replay the moments they've shared, she can't help but see a wounded soul much like her own, wanting nothing more than to find that elusive happiness as they both fled from a past full of demons and secrets they'd locked away in their hearts. They were both wild, though perhaps in their own unique ways , but it was still an untamed want and desire for more than what they had now all the same that played the same notes. They had their differences just as any two spirits should, the French woman a fierce and independent creature with a burning confidence and ambition to take on the world should it so challenge her while Taylor was a little less confident in himself. She wanted to help him grow, though. She wanted to take that uncertainty in what he was capable of and show him that if he wanted something in this world, he could have it if he tried. There was a strength in him that she saw in herself and while they'd both had to get up a few times and dust the dirt from their hands, Adelaide wanted him to know that she would be there beside him every step of the way. Just as she'd promised when he'd asked for her to help him find that something.

As she walks down that street and towards the corner, recalls that look he'd given her when she'd walked up to him with check in had, finding it especially difficult to unremember how very appealing the man looked without that shirt on, sweat causing his skin to nearly glow beneath the weak winter sunlight. It had been a look than seemed to silently ask her if she'd liked what she'd seen and she had only offered him a sultry smile in reply. That was just one more thing he had that those stuffy suitors didn't. And that modesty when he'd teased her about the check she'd written for his services, it had warmed her then and it warmed her now, pale cheeks flushed against the cold kiss of winter against her skin though she hardly minded. He was truly something different from the rest of the world, and she appreciated that in him more than she could probably ever say or show. She was hardly concerned with what he did with the money, that strengthening trust assuring her somehow that he would put the money to good use by perhaps getting himself out of some cheap, shoddy motel and finding a reasonable place for him to call his own. She would need to ask about that simply so that she could bring him a housewarming gift, especially with the holiday season upon the city of Sacrosanct and giving her a perfectly good excuse to give him something without needing anything in exchange, or rather insisting that he didn't return the gesture. Little did he know that he'd already given her so much, more than all the doting gifts from those suitors could ever hope to measure up to. She already had an idea in mind, and the brings an impish smile to her dusty rose-colored lips for a moment as she contemplates just how she would go about finding out where it was he intended on staying without seeking nosy or prying. The French woman had a sneaking suspicion that Taylor might feel obligated to get something for her, but she certainly hoped not. She'd received more than enough gifts to last a few lifetimes, such a thing being one of those pesky side effects of her upbringing. All the fancy and expensive things in the world meant nothing to Adelaide, if anything only serving as a bitter reminder of a time and place she wanted to escape from entirely.

When that destination finally appears in the distance, she can hear the idling growl of the Harley she had come to recognise by now as Taylor's and as she comes around that corner, she can see him sitting there on the motorcycle in faded blue jeans and black leather jacket. The epitome appearance of a man that any father would shudder at the idea of their daughter being with. Beneath that roguish appearance though, the dark-haired woman saw so much more. She saw a man with a good heart and honesty that was enough to to win him that which she'd refused so many others in her life. He has that black helmet in his hand and when those hunter greens meet glittering sage, a coy smile dances onto those lips of hers in wordless reply to that mischievous grin he gives her as she comes to stand beside him. When his tenor tones find her, that impish gleam ignites her gaze as she bats those thick lashes sweetly."Me? Up to no good? Never", she purrs smoothly the him as she feigned innocence, reaching from they hair tie she brought with her this time and reaching back to pull those long, flowing locks into the ponytail that cascades over error right shoulder. She takes the helmet from Taylor then, though her gaze reminds locked with his, sage hues sparkling as she catches the scent of his cologne."My, someone certainly smells delightful. You have good taste", she ushers suggestively through lilted words as she fastens the helmet into place neatly. He shifts forward a little and there is no hesitation this time as there'd been the first time, gracefully sliding into place behind him as she moves her slender hands over and around his waist, silently appreciating the toned toughness of the muscle she now knew lay hidden beneath the jacket and t-shirt he likely wore. He asks her if there was anywhere she'd had in mind and truly, the French woman hadn't even bothered to consider where she might way to go. She'd simply been determined to spend a stolen night away from watchful eyes with the man she sat so very close to."Surprise me", she whispers into his ear as she sits there presed lightly against him in anticipation for the thrill that was only mas only moments away, that sultry smile on her lips. She trusted him, doubted that they'd go to some bar or something and it was this unexplained confidence that has her so very curious to see where he might want to take her.
