    Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawethorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three story townhouses, often with a one to two car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces.

He didn't blame her at all for not wanting to go back to Paris after what he'd heard of her life style there. Who would want to be married off to someone their parents chose for them? He knew he wouldn't, at least not anyone his dad would chose anyway. He had to think his mom would have better judgement. He knew from the moment he saw the fire of determination in her eyes when she talked about her own father that she wasn't going back if she could help it. She would do everything in her power to make sure she never had to. He had no doubt that she would do just that, too. He felt the confidence in her from the start. She had no hesitation in saying exactly what was on her mind. He loved that about her. Where he was bashful, she was flirtacious. He only hoped he wouldn't end up in the "love you like a brother" territory. There was definitely a connection there and definitely an attraction, at least on his end. He had to believe she felt it too. That look she gave him sometimes when she purred her responses, it was downright dirty talk just without the actual words. They spoke so much without saying a word. Even Townsend had picked up on it. He believed she had never spoken like that with any other man before, at least not in front of Townsend. If his reaction to it in the yard was anything to go by, anyway.

He felt she had paid him too much. It was enough for six months maybe, definitely not two weeks. But he knew better than to stand there and argue it out with her so instead he took the check and cashed it, keeping most in the bank so it could collect interest. He needed to make sure he had just enough to live off of while he started saving some to pay back Doug with eventually. He knew enough than to contact the loan shark and ask to make payments. He'd already tried that route before and it earned him a broken nose and a couple fractured ribs. He couldn't move for days. This time he would collect all the money he owed plus interest and only then would he allow Doug to know where he'd hidden so he could give the man everything he needed to get out of Taylor's life and never look for him again....hopefully. Taylor had only heard horror stories of trying to pay off loan sharks. It seemed they alwasy found a loophole to keep you on the hook, keep you playing. It's how they made a living. But he had to believe Doug only wanted his money. He even wanted to get Tommy's rent money that he back owed so he could feel better about that. Tommy was a good guy and he'd run out of him. Now Tommy might be in a bind. Taylor felt guilty so he would make sure to mail him the money too, but only when he had enough for Doug because he knew Doug knew where he used to live and he might get information from Tommy and come find him sooner than expected. Taylor couldn't take any chances.

When he finally caught sight of her, she gave him that coy smile and he felt himself melt into a puddle right there on the bike. She really did already have him wrapped around her little finger. She purred back at him that she would never be up to no good and he chuckled. She reached out, taking the helmet after tying her beautiful hair back so that it fell over one shoulder. He had the sudden urge to reach out and run his fingers through it but he brushed it off. That would be creepy. She suddenly said something about his smell, saying he had good taste and he grinned. "Why, thank you, ma'am. I figured I could spoil you a little after all that sweat you had to smell earlier." He watched her fasten the helmet on her head before climbing on behind him and he would be lying if he didn't say he got a little tense when she wrapped her arms around him, her very touch making his skin tingle with the endless possibilities. When he asked if she had anywhere in mind, she said to surprise her and he nodded as he revved the engine. "You got it." He took off into the road, still going the speed limit but he was a little more relaxed this time since he knew she enjoyed riding the bike. The first time, he was too afraid he'd scare her to do much but this time he felt a little better about passing cars that were going too slow and making turns just a little faster, if only to feel her tighten her arms around him and bring her just a little closer to him so he could catch a whiff of her perfume.

He ran the roads at first, just letting her get used to the feel of the bike again before he picked a road toward the coast. They went over a few bridges and he slowed down enough to let her take in the view of the moonlight over the water. The water was calm tonight with little to wind to speak of. He took a right, gong down a smaller paved road until he got to the road he wanted then he turned and headed up a hill in a spiraling pattern. When they reached the top, it dead ended at a fence with nothing around but grass and he pulled off and parked the bike. Getting off, he held out his hand. "Come on, I want to show you something." He took her to the fence, showing her where the fence had been cut at some point, holding it open for her to climb through. "I promise I didn't do it. I just take advantage of it any time I can." He smirked, letting her go through before he climbed through after her and led her up the hill a little bit more. Breaking through some trees, they came upon the very top of the hill, Sacrosanct spread out below them like stars in the sky. Everything was lit up and you could see all the way to the very edges of the city with the forest spread out on the west and south side, the only places where darkness existed. He stopped near a tree and turned his gaze to her, giving her time to take it in. "I like to come here and think. It helps clear the mind and open up the possibilities. Plus it's a great way to map the city."
