    Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawethorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three story townhouses, often with a one to two car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces.

Taylor was forever glad he was born in this century. He could never imagine himself in a world that wasn't this one, a world where your life partner is picked out for you and you had to go along with it for the sake of the rules. It didn't matter if she wasn't pretty or didn't even like you. You had to put a ring on her finger and give her children because it was expected of you. You had to pretend to like her friends and family and be seen in public, even if you found a lover you liked more on the side. There was nothing like divorce or even separation. You got the hand you were dealt and that was your hand, till death do you part. Some wives poisoned their husbands for the sake of getting out of it. Some killed themselves. Husbands were allowed to beat their wives for certain things and if you saw it, you weren't allowed to meddle. Taylor couldn't stand that. He wouldn't have been able to stand by and watch a man beat his wife for something like talking bad about him in public or embarassing him by getting a little too drunk. It was a messed up society back then and he didn't want any part of it.

He had hoped that he would find love again some day. Did he love Becca? He liked to believe he did, otherwise it was simple madness that drove him to buy a ring and get down on one knee. He was never the marrying type. He was a man of flings and finding connection with people. He thought he'd found that connection with Becca and he thought she found it too but apparently she found it with more than just him. But this feeling he had when he held Adelaide in his arms, there was nothing like it. He had to beleive there were different kinds of love. There was the love that makes you want to go out and buy a ring because you can't see your future without them. Then there's the love that terrifies you, that you never want to lose, no matter what. Maybe this is the kind of love that drove Romeo and Juliet to drink poison all to be together. He could never see himself holding anyone else after this moment with Adelaide. He could never see himself looking into anyone else's eyes or feeling so much joy just in a simple exchange of smiles. He could never see himself ever craving anyone else's kiss the way he craved hers even seconds after they broke away from it. It was maddening and yet his mind had never been more clear.

She relaxed into his embrace as he held her and he knew he never wanted to let her go. With her head burrowed in his chest and her body pressed against his, he felt like he was finally where he belonged. Everything about it just felt right. Her arms were his home and her beautiful eyes, his welcome mat. She finally looked up at him, telling him that she was certain he would and he smiled back down at her before kissing her forehead. He looked back up at the stars and suddenly somethng shot across the sky that brought a wistful smile to his lips. He closed his eyes, making a silent wish that he could become the man of Adelaide's dreams, the man she would want to be with for all eternity. He only wanted to deserve it. He didn't want to bring up taking her home because it was the last thing he wanted but he didn't want to get her in trouble with Townsend so he figured he would bring it up. She looked up to chastise him which only made him smirk at her lightly, but of course she would turn it around to be thinking about him and his sleep and how she wished she could come to join him. Just the idea of it had his whole body warming up as he ran a hand through his hair and smiled sheepishly.

It didn't help matters that she moved to let her hands run along the hem of his pants, those fingers tracing trails of fire along his skin as his jaw tightened with yearning. She even moved to let her fingers toy with the button on his jeans that he had to practically bite his own tongue to keep himself from groaning even as he moved to grasp her hands and bring them up to his lips, brushing a kiss across them smoothly as he raised a brow and fixed her with a smirk. "You are certainly something else. And to think I was going to ask for a key to your chastisty belt, in due time, of course." He smirked a little wider. She leaned up on her tip toes then, pressing a kiss to his lips that he returned, his hand cradling the back of her head gently before she stepped away. He watched her intensely as she stepped away. "Not that I could sleep after this, anyway." He muttered low as he watched her step over to a tree and go behind it. Raising his brow higher, he moved to follow her, only to watch her peek her head around the other side and ask for five more minutes. He chuckled. "For you? I don't know if five minutes would be enough." He grinned before giving chase, all too happy to give her a little game of tag if that was what she was after.

He could never tire of watching her. She was so beautiful and graceful in the moonlight as she laughed and moved out of his reach. He tried sneaking around the trees but she was always two steps ahead of him. Finally he managed to snake his arms out and catch her around the waist, laughing as he lifted her up and spun her around. As he set her back down on her feet gently, he let his lips plant a chaste kiss on the side of her neck, just another little taste, before he moved back out of reach himself, his eyes dancing with mischief.
