if these wings could fly for the rest of our lives
Abigail was hardly aware of exactly just how easily her pale skin gave away that flush to her cheeks, even if she tried to push away any thoughts of just how...gorgeous the man before her was. Then again, he was a King, was he not? He definitely looked the part of someone stepped out of a fairytale! That simple idea one that surely flustered the girl all the more over again, at least until the familiar voice of her less than princely best friend so immediately toyed with her attention. He was definitely acting odd. No, he was sounding odd, that simple peculiarity one it seemed Mr. Prince Charming picked up on too, by that confused look upon his fair features. It's okay, she could make this better! Abigail so readily seized upon that mention of the garden, the girl altogether ecstatic at those brilliantly blooming flowers. Their names so easily rolled off of her lips as she complimented Dorian upon the good soil they certainly must have lined those flower beds with. She was baffled on how those warmer inclined blossoms still seemed so happy even despite it being so cold outside and yet, maybe it was rude to pry after such gardening secrets, that is, if Mr. Prince Charming even knew at all of those pedals that lined his driveway.

She could hardly help that beam that spread across her features at that admittance that Dorian was quite the gardener. He really was like a Prince Charming! Her head bobbed enthusiastically, the girl certainly enjoyed everything about that garden, from getting her hands dirty to seeing the fruits of her diligent labor, even if her own home was rather lacking such a thing. She had plans! Well….for one day….when she had the money, that was. "I am! It's a pleasure to meet you!" She responded in that same bubbly fashion her own delicate hand reached out of Dorian's and yet, she had hardly anticipated the fashion at which he so grasped it, only to lean over and brush his lips across her knuckles. The gesture alone caused her hazel eyes to widen, her cheeks certainly more aflame now than they had before. Her gaze darted from the princely prince King before her to the man that had stepped down the stairs behind him. This must be Mr. Chocolate Man! Frankly, she could kind of see why Arlo had insisted all the girl's liked him. He was certainly handsome, in that more masculine charm sort of way. And then, there was her Arlo with his crooked tie and uncomfortable in his nice dinner jacket. It was almost endearing, in its own kind of way.

That hushed inquiry, however, prompted a small nod from the young woman in response. "Yes, his tie just broke him a little," Abigail reassured the man at her side, entirely certain that this was all that was bothering Arlo. Really, she could hardly be blamed, after all, he was fiddling with that knot she'd made quite a lot. She was sure she had gotten it right though! Mostly sure. Her attention turned but briefly towards The Chocolate Man as he addressed her, her hand placed in his outstretched one. She was equally as unprepared for that kiss bestowed upon her as she had been the first time. An almost embarrassed simper settled on her features as she slowly pulled her hand back, holding it against her chest as if she wasn't quite sure how to handle that….introductory affection. Was this a normal thing? Well, that is, she had seen it in the movies before but everyone was all so poised then! Not like this! Her hazel eyes turned but briefly towards her Arlo at the mention of those pictures he had on his phone with an almost pointed stare. He had some like….super embarrassing ones of her too! God, she hoped he didn't show them those. Fortunately, her thoughts hardly lingered upon such a possibility for very long before Arlo made the comment about her not being a real panda.

"I AM a real panda!" The woman protested with a huff, just because she wasn't a panda all the time didn't mean she wasn't a REAL one. She certainly wasn't a FAKE one, that was sure. Just because she wasn't big and black and white didn't mean she wasn't a panda, okay!?! She wasn't a cat, for crying out loud! This, apparently, was a topic Abigail vehemently defended, those arms crossing under her chest in an almost feminine pout. At least, until Arlo decided to boast of her I'm-sorry-gift. It had taken SO long to save up for it but, she was certain it was worth it, especially to see him talk so excitedly about it. Her eyebrows rose ever so slightly at the mention of Arlo's band, however. She was rather certain he hadn't mentioned a band before...at least, not a current one. "You have a band?" The girl inquired of her best friend, altogether inquisitive of what he filled those nights in which she wasn't present. After all, she tried not to be too over demanding with his time. She tried to be encouraging, either way, her hands clasping together in front of her. "It would be fun to hear you both play together, hm?" She inquired, her gaze turned purposefully to Dorian, as if silently requesting his own encouragement of that peculiar friendship the two vampires had. After all, it was nice to see Arlo have some nice friends, unlike those scary friends he'd had when they first met.

That inquiry of her musical skills, however, saw her head shake ever so slightly, prompting those auburn locks to brush against her bare shoulders. "No, we didn't really have musical instruments where I grew up…" She admitted with a small shrug. They were costly things to buy, particularly when she lived in the middle of nowhere, as far as shipping was concerned. And with no one to teach her, it seemed like a futile effort that Abigail had never invested much consideration into. She supposed now she could learn something but….that electric guitar hardly called to her like it did Arlo. Even that pretty piano was not quite….her. That suggestion of the dining room, however, was easily agreed upon, the young woman entirely content to follow their hosts, her heels clicking upon that tile underfoot. The dining room itself was altogether lovely, with that real chandelier hanging above the middle of that wooden table. It had such an old-fashioned feel of elegance and yet…..she found she rather loved it. Abigail had hardly noticed the cutlery itself until Arlo had mentioned it, the sheer number of forks and spoons prompted little more than a blank look upon her features as those hazel eyes rose to meet her best friend's.

Fortunately, any inquiry she might have had upon the cutlery was cut short but the presence of Prince Charming at her side. She'd hardly expected that sudden display of...gentlemanly demeanor. Not that he was not...that….it just….wasn't what she'd been taught to expect from men. It baffled her, and produced that blush upon her cheeks all over again to be so cared for and in such a peculiar center of attention. It was certainly more than the little panda was used to and yet, she tried to accept it all the same with a gentle word of gratitude upon her lips. She had known it was a nice party but she hadn't expected it to be this sort of dinner party!
