However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three story townhouses, often with a one to two car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces.

death incarnate & night triumphant

Her first words to him merely has Andras flashing her a wicked smile, easily stepping inside as she makes room for his large frame. “If you’d like, I can remove my shirt if you think I’m overdressed,” he purrs darkly at her, his brows arching in amusement, hoping to get a rise out of the woman. Yet, he could never tell these days, the woman finally finding that boldness with him, she was able to tease him consistently, their minor bantering having become a favorite pastime of his. Allowing those hazel eyes to travel the room, searching for that blasted cat, he drops his remark, hardly missing the way Lani just grins at him, as if she were amused by their last interaction. Yet, Andras had hardly forgotten the way that cat and scratched her, those wounds barely needing his administrations but it gave him an excuse to touch her, to be close to her. When Lani responds to his remark, he merely turns those dark eyes on her, “I don’t think that’s the solution,” he remarks again, not caring to ever see that devil cat again.

Reaching up, he begins to unravel that scarf from his neck, catching the way her fingers brush against that material, her own gaze seemingly distant as she remembers something. What, he hardly knows. Laying that scarf over the back of the chair, he can see her cheeks tinging ever so slightly by either her thoughts or the fact that he was wearing her gift. Removing his jacket quickly, his dark eyes rove her face, watching the way her eyes traveled his frame. Such male satisfaction seems to dance in the back of his mind, that wicked smile so adorning his lips, “See something that you like?” He growls in low tenors, his own mind traveling back to their time in the cabin. How the man enjoyed touching her, making her call his name on those delicious lips. Part of him simply wants to cancel dinner and instead, spread her on that kitchen table and feast on her. But, the Fae knows better to go down that road, knowing there would be no controlling himself.

Pushing those delectable thoughts away, he diverts his attention to an entirely different matter; her parents. When Lani admits that she has mentioned him to her mother, he can’t help but glance at her in that amused way, her cheeks tinging pink with her honesty, “And what have you told your mother?” He asks, hazel eyes turned fully on the woman, his lyrics coated with humor. Giving her a moment to respond, his gaze travels to the unfinished dinner preparation, pleased with himself that he had arrived early enough to take over for her. Andras didn’t think explaining how mating bonds work would be an easy conversation over dinner, perhaps he would save it for another time. “As far as your parents are concerned, it is entirely up to you whether you introduce them to the supernatural world or not. I suspect if you tell them I’m a faerie there will be some very interesting questions over dinner,” he chuckles before returning his eyes back to the woman. And it was true, if she chose to introduce him as a faerie or as a human, he would leave it up to her, Andras was adept at dealing with questions and people, especially given his title.

“I only ask that you don’t mention me being a High Lord, that will be rather difficult to discuss simply because I can not show them Somnia. You were the only human that has set foot in that realm,” he explains quickly. Lani truly has been the first human in Somnia, he had never dared open it to outsiders nor tell anyone that wasn’t sworn to him, Lani having been the only exception. Closing the distance between them, Andras can hear the pounding of her heart as he reaches to delicately trace her cheekbone with those calloused hands, a gentle smile so adorning those lips. Inquiring as to how she is, again he’s blown away by her honesty, something he absolutely adored about the human woman. “Are you worried I’ll sprout my wings and roar at them?” He teases her hoping to ease the tension the woman was feeling, “I’m doing better now that I’m here,” he offers honesty in return, enjoying the way her hand felt on his broad chest.

He’s ready to lower his own hand to wrap around hers and to pull her close but she scrambles away from him, as if she were worried he would distract her from the task at hand. Dropping his hand, he watches her move sway from him, his eyes lingering perhaps a touch too long on her figure. As much of a gentleman he was, he was still male and couldn’t help those... more masculine tendencies. Andras is about to follow her until Lani drops a comment the almost takes his breath away. His entire body freezes in place, those hazel eyes going still and cold as a fierce protectiveness over her seizes him. The stories he had heard from that man, whether they were true or not remained to be seen and yet, even this mystery man gave Andras an uncomfortable feeling. “Stay away from him,” it’s out of his mouth before he can stop it as he closes the distance between Lani and him once more. Reaching for her hand, he tugs on it to get the woman to look at him, seriousness so dancing on his features.

“He’s dangerous,” he states again, his voice taking on an authority note. Attempting to still his warring mind, he finally offers a small smile to gentle the demand, even allowing a soft sigh to emit from those lips, “I’ve heard far too many stories about him, I don’t want you around him if you can help it,” he explains before letting her hand go and promptly squeezing himself into Lani’s place at the cutting board. Deftly unbuttoning the cuffs on his shirt, he rolls up those sleeves to reveal those tanned and muscular forearms before tossing the woman another broad smile hoping to change the subject, he hardly wanted to scare the woman with those rumors he had heard. “I’ll finish the cooking, why don’t you pour us some wine, Lani darling?” He suggests though he hardly has plans to move from the position he had taken up, his deft hands making quick work of those vegetables. “Tell me, what am I making here?” He asks pleasantly, glancing over his shoulders to watch Lani, his eyes lingering on her face.

Andras Steinhello darling
