    The South

Although the southern parts of the city might not have the luxuries of the north or the down town vibe of the east, but these suburbs still have their own sort of charm. Here small neighborhood owned shops often run rampant, individuals often know each other by first name. The west is a quaint, quiet part of town. It's the sort of place where children can be seen playing safely on the sidewalks and clamoring in the park. On the weekends in the families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters that surround the city.

    Hyde Park

    Hyde Park

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.

    The Outskirts

    The Outskirts

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often times seen as a way to guard this magical city from the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

i'm not ashamed of my scars, i'm ashamed of the world for not understanding.

It had been months since she last heard from the Fae King. She was unsure if he would want to continue having her around his presence. After all she was not someone of noble blood or of higher rank. What would a Fae King want with someone lowly as her? He had come at a terrible time to her home. Raven knew that they lived on the seedy side of town. It wasn’t a place that she would have chosen, but she had grown to find the beauty within the grunge and unsafe area. Surely after seeing where she lived and those she surrounded herself with he would be inclined, for his own well-being and safety, to keep her away from him. When she hadn’t heard from him or seen him in such a long time, she began to worry. The amount of friends she had could be held barely on two hands. Dorian was a special creature she befriended and she didn’t want to lose him. Although she loved her friends the conversations she would have with the Fae King were...different in a way in which she could express her ideas, her theories, being challenged in an environment where it was acceptable to be different. To be invited to be in his presence was quite pleasing. A small simper appeared as a touch of concern could be seen in her eyes as the Fae chocked on his tea. With a simple shrug she explained herself as best as she could.

“I just never received a letter before. Letters aren’t really something anybody does anymore. As for my mate courting me, he just came to me at any time and we went out. No one does courting like what was done in the past, it’s a lost custom.”

The way her mate courted her was very...unique, and unique was the key word. Mixed with ingenuity and animalistic tendencies he courted her in his own special way, a way in which Raven would willingly follow and allow. It was quite surprising, even to herself that she had come in such a long way to find herself in love with another. First they had to work on an understanding of one another, to see what they liked and disliked. There were things that they had similar to one another, wary of trusting others, anxious when it comes to feeling the touch of another, appreciating the small gestures that made each other happy. Their love had grown and strengthen between the two each day. In fact it was near Christmas did the woman finally feel their love as they became one, and the very thought of it caused her cheeks to grow a tinge pink, embarrassed at such a scandalous thought, of the memory of his lips pressed upon her vulnerable flesh, and how his hands embraced and held her sides. Blue-grey eyes quickly looked to Dorian, as she subtly shook her head to discard those wonderful thoughts and memories. Listening to him speak about his adventures brought comfort in knowing he wasn’t trying to stay away from her.

“Well that is neat you were able to go to England and travel back to your homeland. I’ve never been out of the country before. I have a music player too, and I do indeed enjoy it.”

To leave the country and go on an adventure sounded absolutely wonderful! When she was a little girl and read her picture books or did her geographic and historical lessons, she loved seeing other places around the world. The different customs sounded fascinating to her. Every place held something special, distinctive to them alone, and she wished to be immersed in it. It sadden her that most likely she would never be able to go anywhere. Her home was here, and she couldn’t leave her mate or pack behind. She had responsibilities. Although she could never be in different parts of the world physically, that didn’t mean she couldn’t experience it. There were books she could read, artwork she could view at the local museums, and watch documentary series. Her hand absentmindedly went to the intricate leather bracelet that was placed around her left wrist, as she happily told her friend what gifts she were given this year.

“For Christmas my mate gave me some wonderful perfume, and created this leather bracelet for me. The other year, he gave me this necklace with a leopard as the charm. Apparently my mate wants me to wear everything of his.”

She pulled back her golden-brown curls and placed her long hair behind her nape, to show off the dark metal chain, with a leopard hanging at the end. Then she extended her arm so that he could see the lovely bracelet that her mate had made on his own himself. Surely when she tossed her hair behind her nape he would catch that pleasant aroma. It didn’t dawn on her that without her hair covering her neck, he would see the mark of her mate’s teeth into her neck, his need to claim her to all in an animal way that she was his. Of course, there was no ring on her left hand when the Fae King would see the leather bracelet that was wrapped perfectly around her left wrist. Oh how proud she was of these gifts her mate had bestowed upon her. Even if he did not give her any object to treasure, or remind her of him, she would still love him dearly. Words couldn’t describe how much she cherished her deviant companion. His question about where her mate was caused her to sigh softly. The very idea of the Fae King meeting her mate did worry her. After all he was rather, well, he wouldn’t be someone Dorian would understand. Then there was the fact he was male and that her companion may become a bit territorial, even though he didn’t have to be. A polite smile was thrown his way as she explained herself.

“You know how felines are, they do enjoy sleeping for a long time. I do not think he will see you as a threat, but I would like for you two to meet one day. I would very much like him to meet you, you are my friend Dorian. Although, you must understand he isn’t like others, he is vastly different from any man you have ever met. We cannot leave our territory for long, because we do not want anyone to take our home.”

Easily she took a sip of her tea, looking over to her companion for a moment. There seemed to be some life behind those sadden eyes. This meeting was something that Raven had no idea she needed. She needed to get out of the Ark, she needed to be in good and warm company. She needed to not think about her Alpha’s death.
