    The South

Although the southern parts of the city might not have the luxuries of the north or the down town vibe of the east, but these suburbs still have their own sort of charm. Here small neighborhood owned shops often run rampant, individuals often know each other by first name. The west is a quaint, quiet part of town. It's the sort of place where children can be seen playing safely on the sidewalks and clamoring in the park. On the weekends in the families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters that surround the city.

    Hyde Park

    Hyde Park

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.

    The Outskirts

    The Outskirts

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often times seen as a way to guard this magical city from the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

Emerson would eventually calm down. She was just a scared little puppy, lost and very much alone. She was in a new city that was proving even stranger by the hour and she was trying to control powers that at one point in her life, she had been forced to suppress. Now, she was asked to practice them. She had lost her boyfriend too. It was just a very rough week and Emerson was having trouble coping with all the new changes. She truly didn’t mean to be such a bother to the vampire in front of her, she just didn’t know how to calm herself down. She needed a stiff drink, that’s what she really needed.

When she mentions that she’s never met a vampire before, he seems to take it in stride, saying that he hoped he didn’t disappoint. Granted, that was pretty hard to do when she truly didn’t know what vampires were like. She’d read the Twilight books and even read Dracula, but both seemed fictionalized. She didn’t know how real vampires were. Perhaps she should just shut up and learn.

She offers her name when asked, listening to his explanation of her name: “brave” and “powerful. She sighs. “Well, I certainly don’t feel brave…and I feel a little too powerful than I can handle.” She shrugs a little bit. Emmy had never really been brave – she survived. She did what she had to do to protect herself, but that didn’t necessarily mean that she was brave. If given the choice to fight or flight…Emmy would run for the hills nine times out of ten.

He talks about the storm and she’s trying to apologize. It may not be something to apologize here for, but from where she was from, creating a storm such as that was illegal. She looks at him curiously when he talks about enjoying learning about the powers of others. “Where I come from…it’s illegal to practice your magic. You have to keep your talents hidden. My parents abandoned me when they found out I was a witch.” She didn’t go into much detain about her parents. But perhaps he might realize that she was not used to showing off her abilities. So many years of brainwashing had her mind all fucked up.

She continues to listen, hearing about how he wouldn’t have minded seeing her attacker blown straight off the beach. Even though he might have deserved it for attacking Emmy, Emmy still didn’t want to hurt anyone. “He may have deserved it…but I don’t want to hurt anyone. I’ve already done too much damage with my power.” Her voice was soft, fading away as she thought of Alex. She had killed him with a tornado much like the one on the beach. She missed him terribly.
