    The South

Although the southern parts of the city might not have the luxuries of the north or the down town vibe of the east, but these suburbs still have their own sort of charm. Here small neighborhood owned shops often run rampant, individuals often know each other by first name. The west is a quaint, quiet part of town. It's the sort of place where children can be seen playing safely on the sidewalks and clamoring in the park. On the weekends in the families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters that surround the city.

    Hyde Park

    Hyde Park

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.

    The Outskirts

    The Outskirts

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often times seen as a way to guard this magical city from the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

Malek Ackerman

You're my water. You're my wine.

Malek regards her openly as she sighs out her disappointment at her name. Giving her a small shrug, that easy simper is guided to his features once more, glad to see the witch relaxing around him, “You certainly fought off your attacker, that seems brave to me,” he states simply, “Your power, on the other hand, is immense – but that’s not a bad thing,” his lyrics are light with encouragement, “You just need practice is all. You’ve come to the one city that gives you the ability to practice those powers, although, I don’t recommend doing it while anyone is around,” he states with an apologetic shrug, “No offense, Emerson.”

He can see that lingering fear in her eyes, as her scent wafts into his nostrils. She was clearly terrified of her power – having no control was something everyone feared, Malek was like that once, centuries ago. Malek cringes inwardly as she admits her parents had abandoned her – humans were so… human. They had such a difficult time wrapping their minds around that there were other species in the world, that the world could be different and could still coexist. The vampire had seen many places all over the world where supernatural and humans coexisted, yet, as the world ages, humans tend to forget.

“That sounds rough,” he frowns at her, those English lyrics lilting with concern, “But you survived and that’s all that matters,” he says with a nod of his head. The scars ran deep on this witch, the man could tell, though he didn’t pity her, she was strong; a survivor. Their lives were shaped by their hardships.

It was her response that has Malek’s brows shifting upwards in surprise. Emmy had a soft heart, he was astonished, by how much hardship she had gone through, she had truly hung onto her heart; he couldn’t say that he met a lot of people who had gone through that sort of hardship and it didn’t warp them entirely into a different person. Pulling his hands from his pockets, he holds them loosely at his sides, “Everyone has done something they aren’t proud of,” he replies softly, attempting to pull her out of the darkness that so claimed to drag her down. Taking a tentative step forward, he stops, not wanting to startle her.

“Perhaps, you will take a stroll with me? I can show you that all vampires aren’t bad,” he offers her a crooked smile, allowing her to deny him if she so desired. “Sacrosanct is the most beautiful by night.”

You're my whiskey. From time to time.
