    The South

Although the southern parts of the city might not have the luxuries of the north or the down town vibe of the east, but these suburbs still have their own sort of charm. Here small neighborhood owned shops often run rampant, individuals often know each other by first name. The west is a quaint, quiet part of town. It's the sort of place where children can be seen playing safely on the sidewalks and clamoring in the park. On the weekends in the families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters that surround the city.

    Hyde Park

    Hyde Park

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.

    The Outskirts

    The Outskirts

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often times seen as a way to guard this magical city from the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

She could almost sense the mistrust of the little girl. Anna-Marie seemed as though she did not believe a word Amelia was saying. Perhaps, in hindsight, that was best than her getting overly curious and asking too many questions. At least now she might leave the baby topic alone. If she didn’t think that Amelia had gotten pregnant far after turning vampire, maybe she would just assume she was turned while pregnant and not spill her secret. In the end, her baby was safer this way. So Amelia said nothing.

She felt the tug of small hands and eyes looked up to see Anna-Marie pulling her towards the shadows. She followed reluctantly. She paused a few paces from Anna-Marie, unsure as to what kind of power she was going to display and if it would be harmful to her baby. Everything was about her baby these days.

However, as Anna-Marie began to bend the shadows, drawing them into the figure of a monster, Amelia found that she needed to protect her baby from harm. Hands rested protectively on her abdomen as she watch in both horror and curiosity. Anna-Marie was far more demented than she probably should be. It made Amelia wonder if perhaps she had been denied a mother’s love. She would have to try very hard to show her child that he/she was loved and appreciated, that her child could do anything he/she set his/her mind to. This baby would be showered with love an affection. Perhaps it would keep her child’s soul pure…at lease as pure as a vampire soul could be.

When she was finished creating the shadow monster, she looked back at Amelia, wanting her approval of such a feat. What could she possibly say? It was a unique and yet dark talent. But in the end, Amelia knew that she could not break the heart of a child…even a vampire one. “It is beautiful Anna-Marie. You have far more talent than I.” Amelia did not have a power worth boasting. Hers was only really helpful when she needed to walk in the sunlight. Otherwise, what other use was there for a second copy of herself? Not really that useful for a copy that could not touch or hold. “How did you realize you could bend shadows?”
