    The South

Although the southern parts of the city might not have the luxuries of the north or the down town vibe of the east, but these suburbs still have their own sort of charm. Here small neighborhood owned shops often run rampant, individuals often know each other by first name. The west is a quaint, quiet part of town. It's the sort of place where children can be seen playing safely on the sidewalks and clamoring in the park. On the weekends in the families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters that surround the city.

    Hyde Park

    Hyde Park

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.

    The Outskirts

    The Outskirts

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often times seen as a way to guard this magical city from the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

The surprise that Malia had found her still lingers on the woman’s face, though she’s happy she managed to get in touch with the girl again. Complementing the girl, Miya notes the jacket, absolutely pleased she still had it as Malia responds to her. “I feel like I practically live here as of late,” Miya groans, her head still pounding from all the information she was still trying to squeeze into her brain. Pinching the bridge of her nose, she lets her eyes fall close for a moment as if she could chase that stress away by simply wishing it would disappear. After she lowers her slender fingers, she questions the girl about her home life; specifically, about Henry.

Her response has Miya arching a brow as Malia is almost smug when she replies. She wasn’t sure if she wanted to know what had gone on between the two of them for the girl to make such a face. Though, she doesn’t have long to think on it before Malia rattles off a list of names that has Miyako blinking at her in confusion. “I don’t know who any of those people are,” she sighs a little exasperated, “As long as you are doing well and taking care of yourself that’s all I care about,” Miya offers her a gentle smile.

It is then that the men make their appearance, approaching the two women and surrounding them as if they were nothing more than prey and they were a pack of wild animals. As the man suggests they take them to the bar, Miya responds a bit quietly though she does shoot a warning look at her friend who’s arm she now linked with. The woman was brash and snorted at the men, insulting them in the process that has Miya physically flinching. Clearly, the men merely wanted someone to play with and Malia’s responses seemed to only encourage them.

Tugging Malia forward and out of the circle, she quickens her pace, practically dragging the girl before she demands just what happened. Her response has Miya shaking her head, another anxious sigh escaping her delicate lips, “Malia, I know you were standing up for someone and that’s great; just be careful, okay?” Miya asks her, concern flitting across her Asian features as she looks at her friend. They hardly have a moment of peace before Malia is murmuring in her ear and the small women stiffens, glancing over her shoulder to see the men approaching from behind. Malia’s next words have Miya glancing at her warily, what could she possibly do to chase the men off? They clearly wanted nothing more than to harass the two girls.

She doesn’t have time to say anything as one of the men call from behind them, far closer than she had anticipated. Releasing Malia’s arm, she grips the strap of her messenger bag tightly, the other hand slipping inside the bag to wrap her hand around that pepper spray she so carried with her everywhere she went. Distracted by the guy who had been talking, Miya entirely misses the guy who reaches for her, he’s almost grabbed ahold of her petite arm when Malia whirls suddenly, her voice nearly guttural as she snarls at the men.

Miya stumbles a few steps backwards as she glances at the woman’s face, it had become feral in an animalistic way. Her teeth had elongated into fangs, her eyes were practically glowing, as she tells the men off. She can’t help but release a small squeak of terror at Malia as the men run off, not entirely hearing the men at all. When Malia finally faces her again, her face returned to its more human qualities, Miya’s eyes are wide in fright, her hand white from gripping her bag so tightly. “What are you?” Miya breathes quietly, her mind racing back to everything Arlo had recently told her. Still, the girl was having a hard time wrapping her head around the supernatural world.
