    The West

The western part of the city is often home to the poorer residents. Here there is a certain grunge that permeates the town from the graffiti on the once cleaned brick buildings to the broken and unmaintained architecture. Crime runs high within the western half of town, making it the home of supernatural gangs of illicit activities. Such activities are rarely reported however, and most residents are distrustful of individual's of authorities, instead letting the powerful supernatural beings sort things out amongst themselves. Be careful wandering the Western streets after the sun falls.

    Noah's Ark

Resting upon the harbor, Noah's Ark appears to be little more than an abandoned cargo ship. Accessible from an entrance hidden in the shadows, The Ark is a veritable Were-playground that specializes in fighting tournaments for all creatures great and small. With both singles and doubles tournaments to compete in, the title of Ark Champion is hotly contested amongst the Were population. If anything illegal is going on in the city it's sure to be happening within the back rooms or behind the ring-side bar.

you were the little rain,
and i was the hurricane,
everybody knew you were meant to fix something,
and i was meant to destroy everything.
you are the definition of lightness,
while i was the meaning of darkness.
your body is the realm of all the lost things that are found,
while mine was the other way around.

Pants were truly curious things. Especially to a creature whom hardly believed he was designed to wear them. Tobias only doing so simply because it seemed to please Birdie and Tetra in turn when he did. He wore pants because they did. Because he desired to be like them. To fit in, in some sense, to be just like his companions. He wore pants, he wore boxers, he wore underwear all because they did and some part of himself desired to be as they were. Some part of himself aware he was not the same as they were. Change however, was met with a deeply ingrained mistrust. Tobias eyeing those new pants with suspicion. After all, change so often brought him displeasure or memories he hardly chose to allow to exist within those dark confines off his mind. He was, as any animal, wary of new things and yet it was because his mate alone so desired it that the boy seemed near willing to try- his hands reaching out to grasp those sweat pants before he proceeded to very near roll dramatically onto her back, affording the unfortunate woman with an entire display off all his assets- lest she not know what she was missing. That deep blush to her features missed as he pulled those new pants on, head tilted slightly at her explanation. His mind considering those words.

“They are….home pants?”

His mind had, it would seem, made some connection between home and pants and pants worn at home. His mind having grasped this understanding as he looked towards her for conformation of this understanding. His respect for the woman alone assuring he possessed some desire to please her, to learn those things from her he so rarely admitted not to knowing. His mind capable of the perception of weakness and so understanding the limitations off his own. His fingers reached then for that half-finished bracelet he was working so diligently upon, plucking it from the piles of pieces tipped from the box before he began to work almost methodically upon that task. His mind seeming to seize upon those patterns and repetitions, his features seeming to soften as if he took some sense of pleasure from that understanding of just what to do- of what would come next. Routine was comfortable. Routine made sense. His mate’s question as to where he had learned to do such things met with that simple assurance that he had watched others, yet just what others they were remained to be seen. Tobias offering no further words. The boy often inclined to give only pieces of information when asked questions. His mind unable to make those detailed connections. Her query on just who those others were seeing his head tilt slightly, as if he struggled to interpret those words. Frustration tugging at him and yet those stuttered lyrics managed to fall from his lips all the same.

“When…..Tobi…..not tall….and…..looking for Tetra…..Tobi….stay in house with…..others who are….not tall….and sometimes……police come. They say…..stay…..but Tobi….cannot stay….must leave but…..remembers the…..box of making.”

That he had, at some point in his youth after the destruction of his home with Tetradore spent some portion of time in some kind of youth hostel and crisis centre for children was surely clear. The boy brought there from the streets by those well-meaning police and yet he had so evidently fled even that in his pursuit off his best friend. His memories of that time limited to those craft projects the children had been given to keep them busy while waiting for foster homes or adoptions to be organised or someone to come and collect them. Tobias clinging to this memory alone. The boy shifting then only to pause. That brand new sound seeing him freeze, his mind rapidly attempting to understand just where that sound was coming from. Tobias oblivious to the idea it was a sound caused by his movement alone, the boy on his feet a moment later as Raven flinched away, Tobias near taking off down that hall- the sound of crashes and shouts echoing down the hall before he near tore back into that room, completing a circuit of it much to his mates amusement before tumbling onto that rug dramatically. That sound having stopped. The boy sure he had outrun it. Satisfaction tugging at his lips now before his hand reached suddenly for the woman’s side, his head resting in her lap as he did. That stolen power pressed into her now to heal those wounds and return her to that state of health he so desired.

That touch of lips to his forehead saw that grin return, her lips moving to press against his own, one hand reaching up to rest on the back off her neck and draw her closer, deepening that kiss now before at last relinquishing his hold on her, some dissatisfaction tugging at him still. Tobias still wanting more and yet he was used to waiting in some sense, used to responding to those cues alone, Birdie far more interested in that bracelet and as such his own thoughts so readily shifted towards it. Teaching, perhaps, was not his skill. The gangly deviant scowling at that bracelet for a moment before taking it back within his hands, displaying those three strands of leather. One was slowly folded to the side, then the second and the third in between them both in the same way a girl might plait her hair. Tobias pausing to undo them, only to do them again and again, dark eyes lifting to Birdies own, assuring she was watching before handing that bracelet to her.

“Now….Birdie do.”

That he clearly desired she try was surely evident, his own hands reaching suddenly upward to gently grasp her own long hair, those long fingers separating those strands as his head lay within her lap, the boy equally competent even from this position it would seem. His fingers neatly began to fold that hair, weaving it gently into a braid- Tobias softly tugging upon it then only to bring her lips down to his own once more, stealing another kiss from here, that almost impish snicker of amusement humming from within him before he released her, hands reaching up for the other side of her head. His fingers easily grasped that loose hair, beginning to work those long, curly strands into another equally neat braid, such a hairstyle entirely….girlish and yet almost sweet upon that woman, Tobias tugging softly on that braid again to have her lower her head once more, his lips lifting to press to her own and steal yet another kiss. Tobias pulling back just enough to let those stuttered words find their way from his lips.

“I…..do….love you.”

to sum things up,
we were the polar opposites.
the east and the west,
the tame and the wild,
the day and the night.
You did something that took my breath away,
something that i couldn't ask for more,
something that was unexpected.
you loved me,
and that was enough,
that was more than enough.
