    The West

The western part of the city is often home to the poorer residents. Here there is a certain grunge that permeates the town from the graffiti on the once cleaned brick buildings to the broken and unmaintained architecture. Crime runs high within the western half of town, making it the home of supernatural gangs of illicit activities. Such activities are rarely reported however, and most residents are distrustful of individual's of authorities, instead letting the powerful supernatural beings sort things out amongst themselves. Be careful wandering the Western streets after the sun falls.

    Noah's Ark

Resting upon the harbor, Noah's Ark appears to be little more than an abandoned cargo ship. Accessible from an entrance hidden in the shadows, The Ark is a veritable Were-playground that specializes in fighting tournaments for all creatures great and small. With both singles and doubles tournaments to compete in, the title of Ark Champion is hotly contested amongst the Were population. If anything illegal is going on in the city it's sure to be happening within the back rooms or behind the ring-side bar.

i'm not ashamed of my scars, i'm ashamed of the world for not understanding.

It didn’t occur to her that he would actually speak about what had happened. He was appeared to be a reserve creature hardly one that would speak so much. It didn’t bother her. She wasn’t the type that was social either. The lupine wanted to respect his space. Asking about what occurred wasn’t the easiest thing to answer and it wasn’t a right she knew she was privileged to have. Expecting to hear a no her eye brows raised slightly in shock, quite dumbfounded that he would even open up about it. Remaining still she kept her eyes solely on him, giving him all her undivided attention. Being unable to remember the events that occurred wasn’t surprising, it sounded quite familiar to her. Gently she nodded her head in an encouraging manner. It wasn’t difficult to feel the shift in the mood start to darken. A look of concern was given to him as she waited patiently for him to continue. When he was finished she allowed the uneasiness feeling grow between the two of them. After a few moments had passed the she-wolf spoke softly trying to help explain things to him so he could have a grasp of his animal side.

“When your other side takes control the first thing it’s going to assure itself with his safety. The woods are a natural safe haven for a panther, and being in a yacht on a boat doesn’t do the trick. First time shifting it’s a surprise, for your psyche both human and cat. The second time it’s still not over the aftershock. I am sorry about Sterling, out of anyone, I understand what it’s like to hurt someone when you don’t mean to.”

It’s true. Out of anyone in the pack she knew what it was like to harm loved ones when she didn’t mean to, or even want. Her old pack didn’t understand or attempt to even try to. Not everyone in the Nightshade did either. Yet she appreciated the efforts some of them did it made the burden a bit easier. Listening to him playout and explain that he had harmed his significant other brought back flickers of her own memory. Deep down the lupine was deeply ashamed of her condition, at one point believing her abuse and mistreatment was acceptable to pay for the sinful crimes her other half committed. Of course it took years for Raven to realize that such mistreatment was never acceptable, no matter what. Nervously she twisted and turned her fingers, latching them together and then unlatching them, apprehensive to open up herself. As her fingers twisted and turned the moonlight from above caused her engagement ring to glint just a bit. Blue-grey eyes would look up to meet his own as she slowly muttered a piece of her past she hadn’t told anyone else.

“When I was younger my siblings and I were playing hide and seek. I didn’t know what happened when I came to. I only saw...the aftermath.”

With a heavy sigh she shook her head slowly as if throwing away those dreaded memories, wanting to no longer think of them. Needing to turn this back around to focus on him she inquired gently about his other half, hoping that he was indeed okay! Perhaps if they could teach his other cat what was important to Henry then maybe he would follow through? If her feral side could understand that Tobias was her mate and Tetradore was her Alpha, and Regan was pack, and Serafina was hers then perhaps the same thing could be done for Henry. It took a lot of effort and some trial and error, but she managed and he would too!

“Sterling is alive and doing better right? Our animal half is territorial, if your cat can learn and understand that Sterling is yours...and his...then that might actually help should it come out when you two are alone. Tetra would be able to help I am sure.”

For a moment she allowed the silence to settle between them. Gently she reached out her hand to his, holding it gently and squeezing it in a reassuring manner. With a small smile she spoke gently with an positive tone.

“Henry, thank you for sharing what happened to you. You shouldn’t have to beat yourself up, sometimes...our animal side is just...it’s hard. Did you want to give it a try? I think opening yourself in this mind frame on your human side, might help prop that door open to the other?”
