    The West

The western part of the city is often home to the poorer residents. Here there is a certain grunge that permeates the town from the graffiti on the once cleaned brick buildings to the broken and unmaintained architecture. Crime runs high within the western half of town, making it the home of supernatural gangs of illicit activities. Such activities are rarely reported however, and most residents are distrustful of individual's of authorities, instead letting the powerful supernatural beings sort things out amongst themselves. Be careful wandering the Western streets after the sun falls.

    Noah's Ark

Resting upon the harbor, Noah's Ark appears to be little more than an abandoned cargo ship. Accessible from an entrance hidden in the shadows, The Ark is a veritable Were-playground that specializes in fighting tournaments for all creatures great and small. With both singles and doubles tournaments to compete in, the title of Ark Champion is hotly contested amongst the Were population. If anything illegal is going on in the city it's sure to be happening within the back rooms or behind the ring-side bar.

It was that difference within her actions that so saw the gangly deviant hesitate. Tobias struggling to comprehend those ready changes within the woman. His entire ability to judge one individual from another wholly dependent on that way they moved and acted. His mate having shifted so entirely from what the boy had known that for several moments he was merely left to stare at her as she clambered onto that table. Raven biting into the meat as those others hurried away from her. He could smell that fear and anxiety upon them, that anger that simmered just beneath the surface, that Leopard seeming to waver between protectiveness and aggression. His own volatile nature seeming to flare and yet Tobias so possessed a distinct ability to lead when required off him. That absence of Tetradore tonight so assuring the lanky deviant remained in charge. His ability to wield that authority when needed a perhaps surprising ability and yet some part of him simply understood that order of things and his place within them. He understood the rules of that Ark they lived in. His own naturally dominant personality so assuring the boy readily assumed that role of command when needed. His very form seeming to hold that dominate edge as he moved towards that table, people scurrying from him then, his features softening all the same as he reached it. That confusion that existed around his mate and too that behaviour so seeing the feline remain wary.

The way in which she showed her teeth hardly seemed to irritate him so much as it saw that hesitance remain, the girl wolfing down that steak only to leap from the table and bash through that crowd again and towards that bar. Those breaking bottles seeming to spark something within the boy then as he hurried forward. He remember that sound, he remembered that smell and those flames that licked at the bar within Syn. He had hardly feared that fire and yet he understood that destruction, he understood that force, his mind so seemingly capable of making that deduction- that fire was dangerous and that those broken bottles might, somehow, lead to that very fire. Besides, Tetradore disliked those broken bottles. Tobias capable of remembering that look of disdain upon Tetradore’s features and too that harsh tone to his words whenever anyone broke those bottles. Just why they were so important he hardly knew, the liquid within them and that potent scent only ever displeased the lanky leopard and yet that his companion valued them was all that truly mattered. Tobias determined to protect them from his mate as he grasped several of those bottles, shoving them back on shelves in some effort to ‘put them away’. Tobias never a truly good cleaner in any sense of the word. His gaze glanced upward hurriedly at the sound of that water, his features scowling as he watched that hose run, his mate drinking from it. Why did she not want a glass? A glass was for water. Tobi knew this. He was sure.

It was that pouring water however that seemed to disturb the boy most. His disdain for water well known. The crowd staring towards the pair now as if both anticipating Tobias to act and too, curious to see if he would. That pressing crowd however seemed to only increase that anxiety within his mate. The feline wholly capable of feeling that shift within her and yet that crowd and water only further seemed to agitate him in turn, the boy fearing she might turn that hose upon him as she only began to spray those patrons more frantically. It was the sudden lift of those bottles once more that saw the shaggy haired boy duck to avoid them, that order to stop ignored, his own lip twitching in a moment of irritation and yet he held no true ability to lash out at his mate in any sense. Instinct alone preventing him from harming that being he adored. The scream of those people however only seemed to see his own agitation increase. He hated that sound. It grated against him, irritated him. Tobias simply desiring they stop as his own affinity lashed out, seizing Raven’s to grasp those bottles and stop them flying, Tobias holding them within the air above, catching each and every one she tried to throw and lowering them down into the waiting arms of the bar staff who scrambled to carry them out of harms way.

“No…more.”

Those words were ignored still. Raven’s own stuttering words telling those people to go away as Tobias struggled to slink along behind that bar, that cat-like quietness surely adding him in that moment before he near flung himself at his mate- his arms wrapping around her, his raw strength superior to her own even as she twisted. The boy pinning her arms to her sides and forcing her to drop that hose as that crowd cheered. That water finally stopping. For several moments longer that gangly young man simply held onto her, those nights spent in the ring that afforded him that fit, toned physique surely coming in handy now as he simply waited for her to still. Her hand gripping at his wrist. He hardly knew so exactly what he was waiting for, merely that he simply refused to let go until her own muscles relaxed and that grip on his wrist lessened. The girl seeming to cling to him now, his head tilting slightly at her own fractured words, words his own mind seemed to piece together with ease if only for the simple manner in which they were uttered. It was Jackal’s ability the boy so reached for then, grasping onto that teleportation to disappear from that crowd, reappearing with Birdie still within his arms beside those thrones Tetra and himself shared on that landing deck above. Tobias seeming to waver once more, his mind so desperately seeming to struggle to perceive whether or not he should release her. His grip loosening slightly as if to….test. The boy unwilling to let her run off again.

“Birdie is being….bad. Making people…..angry and breaking all….the things.”

His head gestured lightly to that crowd below and the staff working to clean and sort and return the Ark to its usual schedule. His mind still struggling to comprehend this change as his head rested abruptly atop her own in a gesture almost…affectionate.

“Why is Birdie….breaking things? Always you say ‘we do not break things Tobias’……Birdie lies.”

His ability to mimic others remained decidedly intact, those words, at least, uttered without pause. The boy so seemingly attempting to understand why she was allowed to break those things and those rules and he was not…. That distress from the people below simply….wrong, even if he did not fully comprehend it. He had simply learned that it would not do. It was not allowed. Not when the Ark was beneath his watch.
