    The West

The western part of the city is often home to the poorer residents. Here there is a certain grunge that permeates the town from the graffiti on the once cleaned brick buildings to the broken and unmaintained architecture. Crime runs high within the western half of town, making it the home of supernatural gangs of illicit activities. Such activities are rarely reported however, and most residents are distrustful of individual's of authorities, instead letting the powerful supernatural beings sort things out amongst themselves. Be careful wandering the Western streets after the sun falls.

    Noah's Ark

Resting upon the harbor, Noah's Ark appears to be little more than an abandoned cargo ship. Accessible from an entrance hidden in the shadows, The Ark is a veritable Were-playground that specializes in fighting tournaments for all creatures great and small. With both singles and doubles tournaments to compete in, the title of Ark Champion is hotly contested amongst the Were population. If anything illegal is going on in the city it's sure to be happening within the back rooms or behind the ring-side bar.

She may not be a mind reader but somehow Malia sensed that this puppy somehow meant a great deal to the man. Benjamin, he said his name was? She could tell they'd only just met but there was a glitter to his eyes and an eagerness in his posture that told her something big was happening here. He was making a decision and he was oh so happy about it. It almost made her feel giddy too, like she should join in his excitement. Maybe it was the feeling in the air or something. He did seem puzzled by her comment about human reactions and she shrugged it off before her eyes widened. Wait....he smelled human so could that mean that he might not know about were's and stuff? The very idea fasinated her since it wasn't so long ago that she was in the dark about her own species as well. Did that mean she should keep it a secret, try to act more human? She coughed awkwardly and brushed her hair behind her ear as she looked away for a minute to compose herself. Damn, what if she'd already screwed up? She definitely needed to ask Frost or someone about that.

Then Benjamin did something she'd never had someone do before, hold out his hand. She didn't know if he wanted her to sniff it, lick it, or if this was some strange human gesture she hadn't picked up on yet but all in all, she was confused. He was quick to drop his hand when she asked him what he was doing, looking just as confused before he said that he wasn't doing anything. She snorted. Malia couldn't hold her tongue for anything so him suddenly brushing it off like he wasn't just holding his hand out like a weirdo was not going to fly. "Yes you were, silly. You were holding your hand out. What does that mean? Arm cramp or something?" She offered an excuse but even if he took her up on it, she wouldn't believe him. Silly humans, thinking they can lie so easily. When she offered her name, he offered a cute little smirk but then he looked all sober and almost depressed again. Huh. He said that he didn't live here and she tilted her head expectantly in a "well?" sort of way.

He said he lived in River Dale, whatever the heck that was, and mentioned college. Her eyes lit up at the mention of it since she knew what that meant. Miyako had told her all about it. She grinned in her excitement. "Oh yeah, that place where you go to get smart! My friend Miyako told me about it. Do you know her? She goes to college too." Surely everyone pretty much knew everyone there right? As the puppy started begging for attention, Malia's first reaction was to twitch her lip and give it a look of warning like an adult scolding a child for interrupting when they're talking. But Benjamin beat her to it, lifting the pup into his arms where it gave him a lick on the cheek before he asked her what brought her here and said that the place wasn't that inviting. She could tell he was trying to be polite. She smirked. "Well, I said I heard the puppy. I wander around town sometimes, just exploring. Are you scared or something? I'm not." Her eyes gleamed at him teasingly. "Need me to escort you home to safety?"
