The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Kato Buhari
If all witches were like this then Kato would be happy not to meet any others. Kato usually was relatively laid back, able to let most of what others said roll off of him without care. However, this instance involved someone getting in the way of him doing something for Edie...which wasn't tolerable. His smoky gaze remained glued to the brunette as she held fast to the product he had brought. It had been smart of him not to bring much more than what would cover him for a night out with Edie. As it was, it was proving difficult to get even that.
Kato was very careful not to split the earth completely; breaking the store in half would probably prove his attempts at getting paid moot. The shake of the floors and walls was but a mere taste of the power he wielded. The rumbling knocked a vial over a shelf below to smash it on the counter in on front of them. It was meant only as a warning, even more subtle than the one that he had posed to Frost after the man had punched him. When the witch commented that he shouldn't have come after being told the rumors about her Kato gruffed slightly, "Only the weak are afraid of rumors." He would rarely take the value of rumors, always seeking to find the truth out himself.
Still, the woman seemed to reconsider and shoved more money across the counter at him. Kato's tensed shoulders relaxed some as he snatched up the bills from the counter. It wasn't the full value of what he had brought but it was enough to take his girlfriend out where the food wasn't ordered by numbers or sizes taken by a gangly teenager. His hand caught a piece of the dark broken glass and sliced his hand as he picked up the money. An irritated sound rumbled in his throat as he brushed aside the bloody piece of glass back onto the counter. Kato flipped through the bills, his fingers grazing the paper to ensure its authenticity, before shoving them into his pocket. "I have plenty else, but nothing for an individual who chooses to swindle." His attention scanned the items on her shelf. "You don't even have any real magic here. Makes it hard to believe that you know what you're doing with what I brought so why would I bring you more just so that you can waste it? You can keep your smoke and lights show."
Kato was done with her, he had accomplished his goal so turned about to leave. His mind was hardly on the blood he had left on her counter and the slice that welled up more on the palm of his hand. Edie would be curious about his wound he was sure. His brows crinkled in frustration as he pressed his palm against his pants to cease the bleeding if only to alleviate Edie's string of questions.
