Miyako looked even more upset, if that's even possible, that she could tell how she was feeling. Was it not normal for humans to see what each other are feeling? But then Miyako smiled and said she was concerned and Malia snorted and shrugged. "You don't have to worry about me. I've survived a lot." She smirked, full of confidence, like always. She hated admitting she needed help from anyone. She listened carefully as Miyako explained better about the clothes, that they had been worn before but that they hadn't been owned before. She scowled again. "You mean you don't just put them on and grab some new ones when they get smelly? What does it mean to own clothes? Why do you have to buy things? Why can't you just take what you need?" It seemed the more she found out about this world, the less she understood. Why were humans so greedy? Why did they make people buy stuff instead of just giving them what they need? At least Miyako seemed to have the patience to explain things. Unlike Frost who just gave her smart comments and snarky remarks about her species of Were. She was actually pretty nice. Malia thought so anyway. She agreed to put her wunds under cold water but she didn't like seeing the concern on Miyako's face. Why did she have to get so upset so easily? Malia wasn't used to it. She looked upset again when she mentioned Henry but over time she could see that Miyako was relaxing a little. When she brought up school, Malia was intrigued. What is this place and how can she get there? Miyako told her that anyone can go to school and Malia's hopes skyrocketed. She would ask Frost about it and maybe he could take her there! Surely he would want her to learn how to blend in better. Miyako seemed very passionate about this whole healing people thing. Malia tilted her head, watching her for a minute. She smirked a little bitterly, thinking back to her own experiences with humans before this. "Well can you use a gun or weild a knife? I've seen those save people." She had seen it save a disgusting human's life a time or two, and usually take out one or more of her own kind more than a few times. She hated them but they could be useful. Maybe she was being a little harsh with Miyako cause she wouldn't know the experiences Malia had in the past. She wouldn't know what she's been through. But they start walking and Malia keeps pace with her, crossing her arms to try to hold in some warmth as she shivers. When they get to the shop, Miyako held the door for her as she walked in but she paused inside, unsure of what to do now. Miyako came in behind her, taking off her jacket with a sigh of relief so Malia turned to watch her, wanting to know how to act now that they were here. Miyako walked over to a rack and picked out two pairs of jeans, handing them to her before she walked toward another rack. Malia took the pants, watching her with curiosity as she walked. She followed in her wake, nodding when she said to call out if she saw something she liked. She walked slowly over to a rack of shirts, her fingers reaching out to caress the fabric. Some felt soft, some felt scratchy. They were pleasant to touch but what would they feel like on her body? Had to be warmer than this soaked shirt. She scowled thougthfully, following in Miyako's wake. Miyako grabbed some more things before telling her to come here so she did, following her numbly into the changing room and watching as Miyako hung the clothes up. She stood there, blinking in surprise as Miyako told her to change and that she'd be out there if she needed anything. She nodded, swallowing as she looked at the clothes then back at her. She just hoped she didn't get them dirty or anything. Wouldn't they have to buy them if she did? She didn't have any money. She sighed and grabbed the first outfit, trying it on and after some coaxing, she managed to get the pants on. They were tighter than Henry's clothes but they ascentuated her curves a little more. She felt more like the people she saw walking on the street. She smiled, looking at them. Next, the shirts. She grabbed the first and threw it on. It was loose but not nearly as big as Henry's shirt. It wasn't as itchy either. She looked at herself in the mirror and smiled. She liked this whole trying clothes on thing. Finally she put on the outfit she liked and came out the door to show Miyako. "So...how do I pay for it? Can I fight somebody or something?" |
