The mayor was too busy smiling for selfies and shaking hands to notice any individual person in too great of detail. A box of doughnuts was somehow thrust into his hands (probably by his savvy publicist), and he opened the box obediently and offered the pastries to anyone in the immediate area who wanted them. Today had been a good day, Dareios decided internally while he smiled ear to ear, his small and dark beady eyes barely visible through his cheeky, squinting, cheerful pose. Spending some time at the university lifted his spirits. Helping launch a program that would better the people who lived in this city renewed his interest in this civic duty, which he was learning early on in his tenure that this was more difficult than had anticipated. So the vampire was very much wrapped up in the cheer of the moment to notice the slender young woman trying to skirt her way toward the exit. He was so blissfully unaware of her that he had no way to prepare for the sudden impact of their bodies, which not only sprayed her own papers and pencils, etc., across the floor, but sent the colorful display of glazed and powdered doughnuts into the air and in a grand fashion. For a second, the entire cafe went quiet. Dareios' heightened senses helped keep his slender frame firmly in place, but he couldn't say the same for the box of pastries. They were everywhere, including a glob of rich raspberry jelly that smeared his porcelain-colored cheek in the wake of it smacking him firmly in the face before falling to the floor. People began to scurry and photos were still being snapped. But in usual Dareios fashion, the vampire kept his cool. His signaled with his hands to tell the crowd to give them some room and quickly bent at his knees to help the girl collect her things. He did his best to ignore her rich human scent, swallowing hard the second he felt his mouth salivating because of it. "No, no, this is all my fault. Please don't apologize." He said in response, collecting her pens in one hand and trying to toss a few crumpled doughnuts out of the way with the other. Members of his staff peered down apprehensively, unsure of how to help as the moment dragged on. Once they were able to clean up the mess as best they could between the two of them, Dareios offered the girl one cold, dead hand in an effort to help her up. "Can I offer you a coffee, or a fresh doughnut, for your trouble?" He asks, smirking at her as he used his other hand to wipe away the white, sugary powder that clung to the fabric of his black peacoat. Dareios began to wave off his staff, who lingered awkwardly new the entrance. "Why don't you all get going. I'll find my own way home." He said quickly, then turning to focus on her again. When she asks if she hurt him, his grin merely widens as he shakes his head. "I don't believe we've met before. What is your name?" He responds, trying to grit his way through this always uncomfortable introductions. "My name is Dareios Auerbach. I'm the mayor of Sacrosanct." Dareios Auerbach | Vampire | Vinyl |
