Amelia had caught the subtle glow of his watch every now and then, but she kept her gaze elsewhere, trying her best not to be rude. But it caused her to peek down at her phone sitting on the bar, pressing the home button and seeing her own messages. She wondered if Troy was home yet. She knew he had quite a bit of work to do tonight so she had not tried to pester him into taking her out for a drink. After all, she was a grown woman, fully capable of a night out on the town by herself...despite how lonely it might be.
She wondered about the armed guards, asking him politely what he did for a living. She assumed he worked for the government. After all, there are very few jobs that requires such a posy to accompany oneself when out on the town. His comment had her smirking, nodding her head ever so slightly. "So I've been told." She shrugs it off as nothing. Troy had always been amazed at her attention to minute details.
When he introduced himself again, Amelia started to look at him questionably. She knew his name...he had just told her who he was. But before she could ask if he misunderstood the question, he mentioned that he was the newly elected mayor of Sacrosanct. She gave him an awkward smile, but laughed lightly at his voice. "Oh...wow...guess I should probably keep up better with the politics of the town. It would certainly be a reason to have body guards." She smiled at him before he continued, saying that he hoped she had voted for him. "I'm fairly new in town...I'm afraid I never voted." She took another sip of her drink before looked over at him. "Truth be told, politics aren't my thing. I mostly keep to myself." Which was true. Amelia had never really bothered with politics, never really caring about them. So long as people left her alone, then she did her own thing, rarely stepping on anyone's toes. Amelia was a rather private person.
She finished off her drink, signaling to the bartender that she was done for the night. Already she could feel the alcohol and didn't want to allow herself to get too carried away. "So tell me, what's it like to no longer have any privacy?" Amelia thought it would drive her up the wall if she were ever in that situation. The only one that was allowed to spend every second of every day with her was Troy...and he wasn't even here right now. She couldn't imagine everyone knowing each step she took, when she cut the cheese, and when she took a piss. It just didn't seem that appealing to her.
