Many such places are used to the sometimes peculiar requests of the otherworldly but here there is little that money cannot buy - whether it happens to be illegal or merely involves looking the other way. andy k. aithne she was born and taught to roar Shoving her way passed the bouncer at the entrance to the Voodoo Room, Andy neglects to flash the man her ID but instead flashes a smile - it seems to subdue him, at least for now. She can only imagine that his sudden disinterest in stopping her has less to do with her smile and more to do with the slinky red dress she has commandeered from a shop down the street and worn just for her first appearance in the city. Hanging like a blood droplet just under her throat is the garnet necklace her mother gave her right before she moved - her protection from evil. She toys with the gemstone briefly and bites the inside of her lip as her confidence begins to falter (why it falters, she's unsure - she's the legal age to be found inside of a bar, after all). She nears the bar and brushes her wavy hair back from her face as she sits at one of the stools. Idle chatter surrounds her, but the Voodoo Room is mostly empty for now. It was just after dinner time, so the night owls had yet to venture forth to get shnockered and those who had come to the bar for its food and not its beverages were just finishing up and heading home. Andy drums her lithe fingers against the dark wood bar, amber eyes roving the selection that sat before her. It was an impressive one. She indicates that she'd like a rum and coke before turning to look at the rest of the lavish bar. Overhead, the chandelier rests elegantly, throwing a sensual tone over the entirety of the room. The background music adds to the effect and soon Andy is swaying slightly in her chair, moving to the relaxing rhythm. She asks for a second drink before moving away from the bar and to the front window, watching as cars (personal and taxi alike) constantly travel by. Headlights dance across the sidewalk and sometimes even into the room, though the dark curtains seem to do their job at alleviating this affect. Tipping her drink to her mouth once more, the witch pulls an ice cube from the liquid and swirls it around on her tongue, lost in her slightly-hazy thoughts for the time being. witch . river dale . single || tagged: open |
