It wasn't entirely surprising that the blue-eyed blonde had managed to get herself lost. That seemed to be the trend with living in the big city when she was still relatively new to it all, so unaccumulated the sheer vastness of Sacrosanct compared to her small rural hometown of Willowhaven. So many of the streets looked the same, and it certainly didn't help that a lot of them hardly even had names, only being labeled as numbers like 180th street or even East avenue. Naturally, somewhere in the back of her thoughts, the young woman wondered how it was that anyone was able to truly navigate these busy streets without taking a wrong turn somewhere along the way. And the numbers on the buildings, how confusing it must be if one were to have a moment of dyslexia and switch the numbers, resulting in a sure feeling of being utterly lost. What was worse was that Beylani didn't even have the numbers for The Witchery. She didn't even have a guestimation at what the street "name" would have been. Was it J street? That seems right for some reason... although it could just as easily be G or E street if those are nearby.... Yes, the poor thing was completely and entirely lost. It was a wonder that the dark fae man that so often flickered across her thoughts hadn't happened to just show up as seemed to be his habit. He had an uncanny talent for always being at the right place in the right time, but perhaps that was just a fae thing. Or an Andras thing. She feelings herself wishing almost desperately that he would appear like magic beside her, surely he would know where The Witchery was. He seemed to know this big, busy city like the back of his hand â€" or wing â€" which she could certainly use right now. Yet, in the same moment, she is also somewhat relieved that he wasn't nearby. There was a strange subconsciousness that tickles that back of her mind now as she looks down to her Tinkerbelle outfit she'd chosen. I wonder what he would think... Amusement flickers across those baby blues for a moment as she dares to imagine that exasperated sigh he might have given her, asking the young woman why on earth she had chosen to be an imaginary fairy that his kind surely never looked like. In truth, she hadn't been intentionally seeking out such a costume, it just so happened to be the one on display at the Halloween department store.
Perhaps this was a sign that she should just turn around and go back home. Maybe if she stopped by the grocery store on the way back to Riverdale she might be able to buy a few bags of candy, return to the warmer confines of her small apartment, and content herself with handing out candy to the children that might out trick-or-treating at her complex. She was still a bit taken aback how close one could live to so many other people and yet remain just as alienated and estranged as though there were really miles and miles of pastureland dividing the residences when in all actuality apartment living meant essentially living elbow to elbow with others. Not that she minded, though it was really a big culture shock for the blue-eyed blonde. She was so used to that whole "love thy neighbor" motto that was heavily engrained in the culture of her hometown, so living here in Sacrosanct where the overall feeling seemed to be "survival of the fittest" was definitely something she was learning to grow accustomed to. The people here seemed more leery, more suspicious... Then again, Beylani couldn't exactly blame them either, not with what Andras had told her a few night ago. She was fairly certain that if she had grown up here, or at least grown up aware of the supernatural presence that enveloped this city instead of being told that they were nothing more than beings from folk lore passed down through many, many generations, she would most likely be just as wary of those around her that might try and approach. And yet, that was not how the young woman had been raised, and so she would still smile that friendly smile to those that she walked by on the streets, still usher a soft "hello" to those neighbors of hers in Riverdale even if they never returned the favor. To each their own, right? She was content to go about living the way she always had, even if it earned her unusual looks or even suspicious stares. She had nothing to hide from the world nor was she out trying to stick her nose where it didn't belong. After all, she had the dark fae man to help her learn more about the world she was suddenly living in, that she had been living in this entire time without ever knowing it.
Standing there at the corner of two streets, she looks one way for a time before turning to gaze down the other. At this rate, she might as well just go home. Which was almost disappointing to the blue-eyed blonde. She had really hoped to experience a little more of this city with others around her, loud music reverberating off the walls and the heat of many bodies jam-packed into a tight circle of humans (and possibly supernaturals, though she was sure they'd be no way of telling who was human and who wasn't tonight) on the dance floor. No, such a scene was not something that was common for her, but of the many sayings she'd come to know, how else was she going to meet others and make friends, how else would she truly be able to get the full "big city experience" if she didn't place herself a little out of her comfort zone? She looks now to the crosswalk sign, waiting patiently â€" and obliviously, of course - at the corner for the light to change so that she could cross safely. Maybe after wandering around and looking lost enough, someone might finally decide to spare the poor young woman. She doesn't even notice the other woman closing the distance between them until suddenly she is jerked back into the present and away from her curious thoughts and contemplations by the sudden sound of a horn honking accompanied by a man shouting and the next thing she knows, the Asian woman is tumbling into her. She was barely able to act fast enough, keeping herself from bumping into anyone that might be behind her while also reaching out her arms to help steady the stranger. Beylani hardly even hears the foreign roar of an angry man followed by the sound of something hitting metal, in that moment solely concerned that the woman had hurt herself. The Asian woman is quick to apologize once she regains her footing, the flush upon her cheeks making her embarrassment very evident. Beylani simply offers a warm smile, baby blues looking over the woman to ensure she wasn't hurt, only returning to those earthen browns after finding that she didn't appear to be wounded."I'm totally fine. Hey, it's alright, you don't need to apologize! I'm just glad I was able to catch you", the young woman replies softly. At this point, they're approached by the man who had been yelling, muttering something under his breath before also turning his attention to the Asian woman. Deciding that his words were intended for the other woman, she simply smiles warmly between the two, waiting patiently for everyone to settle down after the sudden event before she hoped to ask either of them if they knew where The Witchery was.
