Townsend could see there was something bothering Jane. She seemed rather bothered, and it obvious. But he didn't want to assume this, he had been taught that he shouldn't just assume things that he doesn't know the answer to. This simply made you look like an ass if you were far from the truth, and he wasn't about to run the risk of getting slapped or worse. Anything was possible in the situation. Just as he was about to speak, he would feel the clasp of her hand on his shoulders. His eyes widened a bit and would wince in surprise. Was she really this strong naturally or was it something else? There were no time for questions. All he could feel was her close in and whisper in his ears, with lips grazing on the surface of them.
This was rather unpleasant, as Townsend was not one to have his ears tickled in this way. But he was going to put up with it for the time, as he started listening to her every words. She needed help? With what? He wanted to look around but she would assert her power here, and he'd cave in to submission. The last thing he needed was a dislocated shoulder and then Adelaide finding out. She'd be distraught for sure if he came back in a broken state, or even injured. It was just how Adelaide was. As he continued to listen to this mysterious woman, she'd tell him that there was a bunch of men after her and that she had a backpack stashed in a bush. So was she a hunter like he was?
He hadn't exactly embraced that part of him since he turning, but he used his power to at least protect Adelaide and keep eyes on her from great distances. Maybe this would be something he could do to keep himself busy, and maybe Adelaide would like it. After all, Townsend was starting to come around to Taylor and he knew how much her ladyship adored him, so maybe this one time thing would become something permanent. Just like his bare knuckle brawling days.
Townsend would turn to Jane and nodded with a firmness in his answer.
"Alright madame. I'll help you with this. I don't even care if this is the last time I ever see you, but you can count me in."
He whispered back as quietly as he could to her, as he would focus for but a moment and let his power start to go to work. As he scanned the walls and corridors carefully, he'd see different heat signatures. Most of them were normal, but there were quite a few that would stand out. He'd have to keep this power going if he was going to successfully get to the bag and help Jane out.
"Just tell me what to do, and I'll do it."
He said to her with great sharpness and eagerness, as he started to remove his suit coat and hat. Townsend would then start to roll up the sleeves of his dress and remove his tie with great skill and ease.
He was ready for anything now, and he felt like he was back in London again. What a time to be alive.
