North

Within the Northern vicinity of the city, the wealthy gather behind meticulously trimmed hedges and high-class architecture. The pristine streets are paved with stone and the storefronts are brightly lit and inviting - for the right clientele. In the North, every establishment is eager to cater to the rich and the wealthy. Many such places are used to the sometimes peculiar requests of the otherworldly but here there is little that money cannot buy - whether it happens to be illegal or merely involves looking the other way. Vampires and Dark Hunters are often found upon these Northern streets, their long lives often contributing to their sizable wealth which allows them the luxuries that the North provides.

She had come far since her first time in Sacrosanct but in the human world, she still felt overwhelmed at times. She felt like she was running on autopilot most of the time. She didn't go out looking for trouble or trying to cause it but she wouldn't back down from a fight anymore. She refused to let her dignity be lost now that she'd found it. Anastasia was fishing but Alexis didn't know her motivation behind it yet and that was what kept her on guard. Why did she act as if she cared to know her when Alexis shouldn't even be a blip on her radar? Anastasia gave off an aura of power and authority and she walked with a purpose no matter where she was going. Alexis figured she would be wrote off as unimportant so why the probing when she could ask Alexander everything she wanted to know instead of wasting her time talking to a mortal? Alexis couldn't stop looking at the red head from her peripheral vision. She couldn't read her and she didn't like it one bit.

Either Alexander wasn't giving her the answers she wanted and she though Alexis an easier target to fish from or there was something more geniune about it but it was hard to read Anastasia. Alexis didn't want to give her the benefit of the doubt and be dubbed gullible and yet she also didn't want to be openly confrontational with an immortal Dark Hunter and displease one of Alexander's closest friends and allies. She did care about him deeply and it was obvious Anastasia cared about him too. They at least had that in common, if nothing else. She got her confirmation when Anastasia told her that Alexander didn't mention their date. So Anastasia was either a good reader of the tension the other night at the cafe or she had other ways of getting her information. Maybe she could read minds like Alexander or maybe she had other powers. Alexis was even more wary now but her spine straightened as she walked beside her.

Anastasia wet right back to the subject of clothing, of all things though, saying they should remedy her indecision so that it doesn't want until the last minute. Alexis rose a brow and suddenly sped up just enough to get in Anastasia's path, holding up a hand to stop her as if maybe her body mass wouldn't be enough. She knew that Anastasia was powerful. She could feel it coming off of her in waves, making the metaphorical hairs on the back of her neck stand up. She was still an animal on the inside and she still had her instincts about her. Anastasia could be dangerous if she wanted to be, but Alexis couldn't do the whole mind game with fancy words and talking around your problems. She wasn't from the times when women spoke in classy tongues and gossiped behind closed doors, plotting their vengeance in secret. She was up front with her problems now and she would handle this on the way she wanted to continue handling them, head on.

"Maybe I'm being blunt but why do you care what I wear? Are you just bored or are you using me to get under Alexander's skin? I'm sure you have much more important things to do than help me pick a wardrobe and no offense, but we're not friends and that's what friends do. You gave off an 'I don't give a fuck about you' attitude the other night at the cafe so why change that now? I don't play mind games, Anastasia. What do you really want?" She stood her ground, scowling thoughtfully at the red head. She was on alert so her shield was at the ready in case she needed it but she was hoping they would be able to settle this....whatever this was, without open violence. Something told her Alexander wouldn't approve.
