Arlo James

See what it's like to be a vulture's lunch

It was strange really, that the pair of vampires he'd found himself in the company of tonight seemed so very different from one another and yet, weirdly, they almost seemed to suit each other. If anything they both had the dominance thing going. Damon was about as subtle as a backhand to the head and yet that authority seemed to nearly pur from the man in anything and everything he did. It was....almost intimidating really, even if Arlo was hardly willing to admit it. His previous experience with the man assuring him Damon really did have the power to back it up too. As for Isolt- her authority was almost as absolute if only more....subtle. Like an undercurrent. As if she hardly had anything to prove and that she simply expected respect whereas Damon seemed more inclined to make someone respect him. They were damn well different types of authority and yet Arlo felt the press of both of them all the same. Even Damon, it seemed, inclined to yield to the red-haired female and yet whether that was because she was more powerful than him or simply because she was his fiance he hardly knew. Still, Damon had let him keep his money and for that alone Arlo was willing enough to be grateful as they made themselves at home in that bar.

He could hardly help that almost nervous anticipation that clung to him in the wake of Xavier's arrival. A part of the Crusnik hoping Isolt had been wrong and the man simply wasn't going to turn up and yet, after Damon's apparent decision to bath in the blood of his coven he supposed he couldn't exactly blame the guy. Let alone the fact Arlo had been feeding off one of them. Maybe this was a bit his fault. Just a bit though. It was mostly Damon's he was sure. His hand lifted easily then, ready to wave away that alcohol he was sure Isolt had been about to give him only for the woman to suddenly slice at her own flesh and offer him that tumbler off her own blood. The scent alone was intoxicating. It lacked the age of Damon's and yet these was something sweet about it all the same. Something alluring in an entirely different way- his pupils dilating readily in response to that meal placed so teasingly before him as his hand reached eagerly for that glass. Only to have Damon hiss at him like an alley-cat.

He hardly meant to respond in the way he did. Arlo's control a notoriously fickle thing when the scent of blood permeated the air. The near feral nature and food-based aggression something he was still working on...slowly. Here and now however that reaction was near spontaneous, his lips pulling back from his own fangs to hiss right back in that rather clear challenge. After all this was his meal. Not Damon's. Even if the other man claimed some right to it as her mate. He couldn't exactly fault Damon for feeling that way and yet in that singular moment his own thoughts were far more predatory then logical- even despite Isolt's instance for them both to stop. Arlo allowing his metaphorical heckles to lower a little- at least until that sudden spark of electricity seemed to hit his hand. A near yelp escaping his lips as he released that glass. His gaze still firmly held upon Damon's own as he seemed to debate picking it up again. That moment of silence seeming to extend between the pair before Arlo finally looked away in that unspoken yield.

"Bastard."

He muttered near beneath his breath, leaving that glass untouched as he rubbed at his hand. That sudden knock at the door however seemed to see a complete shift in everyone's attention. Arlo teleporting hurriedly behind that bar and out of sight. One hand reaching back up to snatch that glass from the bench as he did. Well- what Damon didn't know wouldn't hurt him right? Arlo downing that glorious blood readily. That taste utter haven. His own powers readily seeming to hum in response to that meal. What exactly went on in those next few moments he hardly knew. Arlo staying well out of sight as Xavier and Isolt headed into that office- Damon apparently left outside much to the mans clear outrage as those bar lights flickered. Maybe he should hide that glass somewhere. His head appeared behind that bar a few moments later, Arlo at last standing up to reveal himself as Damon's head snapped towards him, asking how he'd gotten there to begin with.

"I'm fast."

He responded simply, shoulders shrugging lightly before his blue gaze turned towards that closed office door. Should she really have gone in their with that guy alone? Even he didn't think that was a great idea...exactly. Arlo wavering momentarily on just how helpful he was capable of being before at last presenting Damon with that offer. The other vampire fixing him with a hard stare before demanding to know if this was a joke. Arlo's own features frowning once more.

"I ain't havin' ya on, bud. Seriously. There is almost nothing I can't control if its technology. Crusnik magic."

Well. He somehow doubted it was that, still, that lopsided grin found him all the same as he held out his hand, Damon placing his phone in it a moment later as his affinity extended to seize that little device- along with the one in Xaviers pocket- connecting the two in just the same way as a call and providing Damon and himself that insight into just what was going on in that room. Alright, maybe a part of him wanted to impress Damon a little bit. Was it wrong to want to approval of an older vampire? The moment that sound erupted from the phone Damon readily snatched it back to place on the bar, Arlo leaning closer to listen in turn. Xavier's voice finally capable of being heard. Arlo managing to look almost sheepish at his mention of 'the crusnik'. Great. Damon and Isolt were going to be in more trouble because of him. Still, Isolt hardly...denied that he was with their coven. Arlo's head tilting slightly in some contemplation of that before that conversation continued. That talk quickly turning to Damon. Xavier's raised voice seeming to piss of Damon all the more until he could near feel that power humming from the man beside him. Isolt, to her credit, hardly seemed intimidated by the elder vampire. Arlo's eyes rising slightly and that potently offered threat of her own. His hand shifted slightly then to cover that phone to make sure his own voice wasn't heard as he glanced towards Damon.

"Your wife's kinda badass- just saying. She must actually like you if she's going to go to war for you."

There almost a tease in those words all the same. His hand lifting once more to make sure they didn't miss any of the rest of that conversation. Arlo readily suspecting the pair to come out at any minute. The younger vampire getting ready to terminate that call and delete the history to stop Xavier ever knowing that conversation had been heard to begin with. Hopefully- Isolt was equally as oblivious. If she wasn't he had every intention of blaming it on Damon. His blue gaze shifting briefly to the other vampire man then. Arlo lowering his voice significantly once more.

"Why don't you just follow this guy home and kill him like you did the rest of his coven? I mean, that ain't my style but it kinda seems like its yours. You know, murder and blood and rawwwr and all that. I don't think he's gonna leave you alone, no matter what he says. Just my two cents."
