The sun had finally set and Amelia allowed her eyes to flutter awake, glancing about her bedroom in search of Troy. She extended her hand to swipe his side of the bed, however, she was saddened to find that the bed was cold. He had long since gotten up and dressed for his evening. Ever since the good Dr. Greene had cleared her during her postpartum visit, Amelia had been granted the right to have intimate relations with Troy again...which she did so often now. It rendered her tired and she slept better now than she had before giving birth to her daughter.
Tenley. Just thinking about the child that slept peacefully in a room down the hall made her smile. As a vampire, she had given up all hope of ever having children. But by some miracle, a vampire and a fairy had together created the impossible â€" a vampire child. She was a vampire, born of a vampire â€" not created. It was a secret that she protected ever so dearly. She wanted no harm to ever come to her child.
With a yawn, the woman rose from her bed and slowly eased herself onto her own two feet before she showered. By the time she had stepped form the shower and dried her hair and put on her makeup, there was still no sign of Troy. He was probably out doing something for Dorian. She dressed in a modest cocktail dress, something that wouldn't show too much skin. After all, she didn't want to make Troy jealous by having other men fawn over her.
Once she was dressed and ready, she slipped down the hall to the nursery where she saw the nanny feeding Tenley a bottle. She smiled at the pair, letting the woman know where she was going. She kissed the top of Tenley's head before she said her final farewells and headed towards the garage.
The black tesla was beautiful and perfect and Amelia loved the way it drove. Troy liked his Impala and the car was nice, but she had a soft spot for her Tesla. The engine roared to life and she sat in the garage for a moment just feeling the car purr before she backed out of the garage and headed into town to the Voodoo Room.
The last time she had visited the hip bar was the night the place was overrun with Dark Hunters. She had been injured and it had been Troy who saved her life. While she appreciated what had happened to her, she was still very much nervous. She did not want to have a repeat of the last time. Troy was not here to save her.
She eased up to the bar, sitting two seats away from a man in a red suit who ordered a White Russian. She chuckled lightly, not loud enough for him to hear. Such a sissy drink for a man who was practically begging for attention. The bar tender looked to her, asked for her order, and she pulled the corner of her lip into a grin. "Bourbon, on the rocks." The bar tender nodded his head and grabbed a class, placing three large ice cubes in it before depositing the equivalent of a double shot of bourbon in the glass. When he handed it to her, she thanked him, slipping him a few folded bills before bringing the drink to her lips. Yes. This was delicious.
