Azrael

Only Fools Walk Where Angels Fear To Tread

Why did people walk so slowly? It was as if they became possessed the moment they stepped off that plane and so suddenly felt an insatiable need to walk as slowly as possible, or worse, to stop walking altogether on the automatic walkway- as if it were a fucking ride. Azrael could near hear his own teeth as they ground together, his jaw aching from the action and yet will power alone so hardly seemed to be enough to prompt the man in front of him to manage anything more than a veritable crawl. Fucking great. He might as well just die here. His phone was fished easily from his pocket. That myriad of missed calls and messages from the Council were momentarily ignored as sent that singular text to Sera alone to let her know he had landed. His girlfriend still at least an hour away and caught up within that traffic that so inevitable seemed to spiral around airports. A soft sigh left his lips and yet, the blonde Hunter made every effort to contain himself all the same. Professionalism, after all, had to count for something. It would hardly do to have a Council member making a scene in the middle of an airport and yet- decorum so hardly stopped him from imagining how enjoyable it would be to bring an end to the very human man in front of him who was still managing no more than a shuffle. A small break in that crowd saw the blond man dart quickly through that gap and finally in front of the one-man traffic jam he'd been caught behind since getting off the plane.

He had never liked airports and yet he supposed few people did. Still, the sheer amount of people in the place was...distracting. The amount of supernaturals alone nearly oppressive. He had become near immune to those very sensation in Sera's presence and yet that very immunity seemed limited to Sera alone. Azrael still entirely aware of every Witch and Were and Vampire he passed. That desire to...eliminate them as potent as ever. His head shook, the Hunter focusing instead on merely getting out of that maze of people. With Sera still an hour or so away he might as well entertain himself in the least. His phone displaying that plethora of calls to be taken or responded to. Azrael nothing if not wholly committed to his job even despite the complaints it seemed to provide him with. He stepped easily into that bar, Azrael easily taking that seat on the nearest chair and beside a young woman he paid truly little attention to, several other patrons quick to back away from him. Either his reputation proceded him or these people were simply over cautious. Not that he found he minded. The less people about the less the risk one of them might try and talk to him.

The light wave off his hand easily brought the bartender to his side, a drink sliding toward him a moment later as he rested his phone in front of him. Serafina's return text prompting the vaguest of simpers to his lips. The raven haired witch, it seemed, the only being capable of prompting that flicker of pleasure from him- even if he feared for the safety of his Aston Martin in her hands. Another soft sigh fell from his lips as he raised that glass to them, Azrael beginning to scroll through those pages of messages and calls. His golden gaze glancing briefly toward the woman beside him only to realise she was another Hunter, more then that, she was someone he knew. At least....vaguely.

"Gia, isn't it? Or Buffy, from what I remember."

One eye lifted ever so slightly in curiosity and a clear anticipation. He had seen her at more than one meeting he was sure- although not for a little while now. In fact, he knew decidedly little about his collage beyond her name and her decent enough record when it came to the Hunt. Azrael reaching smoothly to slide his phone from the bar and back into his pocket. He' kept his relationship with Sera a secret for well over a year now and he had little intention to let another Council Member find out about it now. His dating a Witch not about to be looked on with favour. That vague look of sorts upon the womans on features prompting those words again.

"Azrael."

That offering off his name, he suspected, might yet jog her memory. The pair, after all, had hardly worked on anything together in any real sense. He hardly blamed her for not recognising him immediately. That beer she was nursing appearing as if it was almost warm if that lack of condensation was anything to go by. How damn long had she been sitting here? Not that he supposed he cared. Azrael rarely choosing to socialise with any of those beings he worked with. Still, he supposed, it would hardly hurt him to make....some kind of effort.

"You working? What the hell is there to investigate in an airport?"
