She wishes her life could have been far more fruitful and fun. Perhaps if she had been given a good life without all the shit, she might be a far happier person. But she doesn't get to choose the life she's been given. All she can do is try to make sense of it and try to turn her bad luck upside down. Life had not been kind to Emerson and every day she is trying to make the most of it. But perhaps if she could just live one day without worrying about what she would eat or where she would sleep, that might make the task far easier.
As they near the beach, she can feel the back as it begins to slow in speed. As it slows, she can feel her grip on his waist lesson. The more normal rate of speed definitely makes her feel more secure.
As he stops the bike and steadies it with the kickstand, she slowly releases him and moves to unsnap the helmet and remove it from her head. She eases off the bike and sets down the helmet on the seat with ease. While she's busy trying to straighten her wind-ridden hair, she hears him ask if it wasn't so bad. She wants to roll her eyes but she won't give him that satisfaction. "I reserve judgement for now." He's baiting her and she can tell. She refuses to give him any reason to laugh or make fun of her. He's already done his fair share today and if she was going to enjoy the date, then he needed to stop teasing her.
She took a step away from the motorcycle and towards the beach. As she reached the sand, she slipped off her flip flops and tossed them in the backpack she wore over her shoulders. Stepping into the sand, she let a smile cross her lips at the feeling of the sand between her toes. This was one of her favorite places. There was nothing quite like the feeling of sand between your toes and the sound of the waves crashing against the beach. "Do you come here often?" She wondered how often he came here. She had played her guitar along the more popular beaches, knowing that there the tourists would pay to hear her serenade them. But this beach was breath taking. It was quite and they were alone - something that Emmy didn't get to experience often.
