William Holloway

I'm a devil in disguise

William had known that this was a terrible idea.

It seemed, regardless of the intentions that the Englishman held, his decisions were all bad as of late. But Sebastian had wanted a night out - a night that the two friends might have shared in a different city in a different century. For a minute, William had allowed himself to get distracted by the brunette in front of him. She was enchanting, and Will was entirely smitten. It was effortless, really, to catch the young girl as she fell into his arms, though he cared little for the very reason for the rather rude shove off of her barstool. He wanted her closer and closer and closer still. If he wasn't swayed by the magic at play in the room, William might have considered how incredibly inappropriate this was, but as it was, the Englishman dipped down to press his lips against hers. For a breath, Will was able to appreciate the softness of her lips and the way that her body seemed to effortlessly fit against his - but that moment was short lived as bodies surged into them in an attempt to get to -

Shit.

The movements that followed were near instinctive to the Dark Hunter. His body was filled with the overwhelming need to protect the man that the crowd had latched on to. And with that instinct came that familiar itch in his palms to call for something that he knew he couldn't control. One hand remained steady on Emerance as he pulled her towards Sebastian. He was terrified, and probably rightfully so, that if he let go of her the crowd would rip her apart. In a desperate attempt to simply get the crowd off Sebastian, he grabbed at one such wrist. The snapping motion and the man's howl of pain should have made him pause, and yet Will's focus remained on keeping his companion - well, companions now - safe. A hand on his chest made William pause, though his body relaxed instantaneously at the sight of Emerance. "Okay, we have to go," He commanded once more. His hands snaked to her waist, lifting the slim figure up onto the counter of the bartop. He would have liked to be able to insure her safety, and yet there simply was not time. The crowd was getting angry with it's apparent... need to touch Sebastian. What the bloody hell was going on?

The blonde girl of Sebastian's interest followed over the bartop with Will's assistance before his hands were on Sebastian. The crowd seemed unwilling to let go of him, and yet William finally managed to free his companion from the crowd's grasp and get him safely over the counter. The roar of the crowd filled his ears then - they were certainly not pleased with the Hunter for taking away what they considered theirs. William's palms itched once more and he drew his dagger, holding it firmly in his left hand as he used the tiniest bit of leverage to hoist his own body up and over the counter. The relief that the distance provided was short lived as the man turned to see the bartender kissing Sebastian. Had the whole world gone mad?! His own strength surely got the better of him as he reached out, hurling the man away from Sebastian and into the opposing wall. The thousands of dollars worth of liquor bottles rained down then, the sudden noise of glass shattering enough to momentarily halt the crowd. But William didn't pause. He pulled the fallen Emerance to her feet, pushing her, Sebastian, and the blonde through a door to the back room.

The room was not the relief he'd wanted. He'd been hoping for an escape of some sort. But of course that was destined to be too bloody easy, now wasn't it? A curse left his lips as he turned to pull the shelving unit across the door in some attempt to keep it closed. The crowd clearly had no intentions of slowing down, and though he certainly hadn't meant for them to, the words that followed to inquire why came out sharply, followed immediately by the inquiry to his two companions of their safety. His eyes flitted towards Emerance, relieved to see that sweet smile upon her lips as she assured him of her own safety. Even with the worries of the pressing crowd, William couldn't help the equally warm smile that pulled onto his own lips. Gently, he reached out, tucking a lock of her hair behind her ear. "I'm so glad you're okay, Emerance." But that attention upon the young girl was short lived. How he would have preferred to focus all his energy on her, and yet there were so many more... pressing matters. With a quick demand for the blonde girl to look for a way out, he turned his attention once more on Sebastian. It was, perhaps, the first time he'd ever seen his companion truly shaken, and how helpless William felt now to do anything about it.

Despite his own worry for Sebastian's welfare, he couldn't quite put aside the flash of jealousy that erupted in the pit of his own stomach as Emerance stepped away from his side and towards the vampire. William was, however, wholly unprepared for the nervous way that Sebastian put his hands up, nor the way that he stepped away from them all. "Seb-" William began, though his words were cut off by the blonde girl moving quickly towards Sebastian. William put an arm out quickly, blocking the girl's path with that barked order to go find them a way out of here. What he wasn't prepared for, however, was the argumentative quip he was returned with. William's mouth opened to respond, though he was quickly cut off by pounding on the door that made those glass bottles rain down onto the concrete floor. The blonde startled, and despite himself William's arm on her pulled her back and away from the glass at their feet. "You'll be alright," He said gently, his eyes scanning around the room for some sort of escape route. The door in the far corner of the room caught his eye then, the small door clearly meant for deliveries. Hopefully it led to somewhere that would allow them to escape this situation rather than into another crowd. William let go of the girl, moving over to the door. "This way," He commanded as he forced the door open. Practically pushing the girls through the door, William grabbed ahold of Sebastian's arm to guide him through and to the darkened alleyway beyond. William paused before exiting, trying to pull the shelves in front of the door once more to try and give them some time between them and the maddened crowd.
