She too was much like him at first? No, not this one. Sure she seemed shy. Sergio picked up on that much, but nervous? Well... Maybe it was a bit daunting to one that lived in a different part of the world, or state or wherever... However it worked in this part of the world?
Sergio had to put some thought into that for a second, as he just shrugged a bit and cracked a smile again, with his brows ruffling a bit.
"Well at least I know I wasn't the only one that was feeling that way about this town!"
He replied with a soft chuckle, that smile never fading from his face.
"Big cities will do that sorta thing. Suppose I'm more used to it then most I say. Well..."
Another brief pause, with one hand in his pocket and the other arm bent and the free hand cupping his own chin as he ruffled his brows in thought.
"I guess for me it's not that much a bother. I've sailed these vast seas for many years of my life. Up until sailing completely changed. Not sure we'll find anything old fashioned in terms of Pirating!"
His eyes seemed to light up at the idea of sailing again. It really wasn't the same as it was back then. Would be a glorious thing for Sergio if such a thing happened.
At least his knowledge of sailing never left him. Those memories were fresh in his head. Though he was never a captain, he was often a very sought after deck hand. Skilled with a sword, operations and of course, the suave mediator. Hence why he had so much experience.
And of course why his confidence was always brimming over like a pot of water specifically for pasta.
"I also came from a pretty busy city myself. I almost said village because back then, it didn't even really have a name. We did call it a port town though, but I always referred to it as Port Santos.. Funny enough the name stuck for that part today... Maybe?"
There was that eyebrow ruffle again, hands going in his pockets and laughing as he did earlier, but he'd remove his pockets and fold his arms across his chest.
He glanced down briefly and saw a speck on his vest. Unacceptable. But he'd flick it off and carry on.
"I couldn't possibly afford to be arrogant on the high seas. Plus my mother wouldn't exactly let me. She did always say to be a humble, and simple man. Yet I'm far from simple. I'm quite extra."
He would strike quite a pose for a moment and burst out in the most jovial laugh ever. It added on perfectly to the compliment from Lani.
"Ahahahaha! Ahhh, thank you my lady! You're too kind indeed. Warms a sailor's heart."
He really did like the fellow Fae woman already. She carried herself very elegantly; Poised and was, or to him, the kind that would not let herself crack. A little emotion was healthy though.
And she seemed to have gone through a lot, so the idea of giving another person some sort of refreshing energy and change made him happy.
"What can I say? One thing I picked up from one of my many ships I was a part of was to laugh even when it hurts. Because laughing gives you a good kind of hurt. And then you take a shot of whiskey!"
A twinkle in his chocolate eyes flashed after he spoke those very words. AND of course that smile he was so proud to show off often. And stayed as well at the mention of going into the coffee. Sergio suddenly became giddy as a child.
"My dear Lani, as coffee is a huge part of my Brazilian blood, I would be honored to be your guest for a coffee date!"
