North

Within the Northern vicinity of the city, the wealthy gather behind meticulously trimmed hedges and high-class architecture. The pristine streets are paved with stone and the storefronts are brightly lit and inviting - for the right clientele. In the North, every establishment is eager to cater to the rich and the wealthy. Many such places are used to the sometimes peculiar requests of the otherworldly but here there is little that money cannot buy - whether it happens to be illegal or merely involves looking the other way. Vampires and Dark Hunters are often found upon these Northern streets, their long lives often contributing to their sizable wealth which allows them the luxuries that the North provides.

She wasn't sure why she would even be considered his type. She wasn't easy to read. She liked to keep her secrets locked away. She never moved with her heart on her sleeve. She kept to herself. These qualities definitely didn't have the men tripping over each other to win her heart over. Then again, she had locked away her heart a long time ago.

She liked the idea of solving his riddle. He was dark, handsome, mysterious. He was perhaps the most interesting riddle she'd tried to solve in a long time. At his question, she chuckled. "We are all riddles to be solved. Life would be boring if we were all out in the open for everyone to see all the time." Maybe she just liked to think of life as a series of riddles to solve. If she solved one, then she'd be onto the next one.

When she got up to leave, she felt his hand brush her own. Perhaps that's what made her stumble. She wasn't expecting it and her brain definitely wasn't quite sober enough to deal with that on its own.

She watched as he stood as well, as if he was ready to swoop in a catch her if she fell. She looked at him strangely as he mentioned that he wasn't looking. "You sure? I saw the way you were looking out into the crowd. I'm sure you could have your pick of girls. You have the looks and the charm." Hell, he had the looks and charm to pick her up if he wanted to.

At his offer for a water or a ride home, she hook her head. "It's okay...I just need to walk it off." Honestly, she didn't have a home to go to. A tent beneath a bridge was hardly a home. "By the time I get home, I'll be sober."...which wasn't a lie. She had a good half hour to an hour walk. No doubt by the time she made it to her humble abode, the bourbon would have run its course.
