kissing death and loosing my breath
Serafina's encounter in the forest had been the first time in a very long time that she had stared into the eyes of death - and willingly he had let her go. It had fascinated her, confused her, intrigued her and for days afterwards she had reflected upon the blond haired man and the wolf that had "saved" her. The woman had called him to her much for the same reason and too left that encounter even more mesmerized by the man despite his efforts to shove away her interest into some dark recess. She had been determined not to be cast aside, despite his cold exterior, she had been able to fool herself that some part of him had been just as interested as she was. The grin that lit up his face now, within this moment at her agitation some how saw her steadfastness waver. Naively, Serafina had thought that perhaps she was beginning to seep under that facade, especially in the fashion that he had seemed to react so to Davante's presence but now? To see that smirk upon his masculine features at her distress caused a peculiar mix of emotions to well up within her chest, ones that she hardly had time to sort through. She pivoted upon her heels, pushing him and his actions to the back of her mind as she surveyed the scene in front of her, fully intending to help the wolf that had too become apart of her life when a touch upon her arm stopped the woman.

Her grey tinged gaze stared at the man in front of her, watching the scowl that crossed his features, she watched the thoughts and memories dance over his gaze. She wasn't sure what she had expected from him but it had hardly been the simple desire to say goodbye. Her ruby red lips twitched in the fleeting glimpse of a frown before she nodded ever so slightly, whispering simply, "Goodnight." Serafina turned back towards the group of were-creatures just in time for the sensation of shadows to embrace her figure, catching her off guard with an almost mysterious sense of panic. She knew those shadows, just as she knew that only bad things could accompany their presence. Serafina watched in disbelief as the chandelier upon the floor rose, flying within their direction and all she could do was watch helplessly as it collide into the door where the Dark Hunter had been but moment's prior. She stood in silence as the shadows began to vaporize, the chandler settled on the floor before her with nothing but empty space surrounding it. Her eyes rolled in minute annoyance as she turned back to the wolf, stepping down the stairs of the entryway. Even despite her frustration at the wolf, a part of Serafina still cared, still had wanted to help her, to ensure that she was okay. It was that part of her that stopped dead in her tracks as the wolf's gaze met her own, her feminine voice slipping into her head with one simple sentence.

The witch's eyes narrowed, her head shaking ever so slightly, a frown crossing her features and without one word leaving her lips she formed her thoughts into a response for only the wolf to hear. Thoughts that held her anger, frustration, and hurt. "I can't even begin to say how stupid that would have been. He wasn't doing anything wrong before you intervened. God, you're both idiots. If someone was actually interested in what makes me happy instead of some delusion of me being safe then....ugh, just forget it Raven. Just fucking forget it. Stay with your family. They're the only thing you care about anyways" Serafina turned, leaving the wolf to the pack that surrounded her. She was foolish to have expected anything else from the woman except for whatever ridiculous notion the woman had that it was her job to protect the witch. It was all she ever did, protect her, even when she didn't want it, even when all she needed was the warm embrace of a friend. She had been naive to expect anything different from either the wolf or the Dark Hunter, reminded once again that witch was entirely alone, just like she has always been.
