i used to rule the world
seas would rise when i gave the word
Alexander did very few things in life without purpose. Even those aimless, nonsensical acts always held a meaning to them for the aged old warrior. He didn't expect his companions to understand, nor did he expect them to see his intents within what surely seemed as if entirely random wandering. Quite on the contrary, the Dark Hunter was
looking for something. He didn't care about the fights that lined the hallways. He didn't care about the witches or other super natural that might be stalking behind each door. They were all frivolous distractions to Alexander - especially considering what he intended to fetch. After all, if they were going to engage in such a pointless attack, it was up to
him to find something worthwhile beyond those extravagant corridors. Alexander paused only by the sound of a massive skittering of movement between the wallpaper, the beautiful damask inspired paper peeling way to and flurry of bugs climbing through the wall - coating the once luxurious look of the hotel and almost immediately reminding the man of one of the grungier motels he had stayed in within other more savaged countries.
Thankfully, the bugs all but ignored him, quickly skittering down the hallway like an oceanic tide. A small frown crossed the man's lips, his eyebrows furrowing ever so slightly as he felt a rush of air past him - one that he easily associated with one of the younger hunters. His head shook ever so slightly from side to side as Alexander chose not to pursue either the earthen creatures nor the hunter on their trail. Instead, he continue on his self imposed quest, moving further down the corridor he stood within and deeper into the labyrinth of the hotel. Although Alexander could hear the faint sound of combat somewhere back from the direction he came but it hardly coaxed him to turn. Instead he remained steadfast and several turns later Alexander found himself stepping into the exact room that he had come searching for â€" the office. It was here, after all, that all such pertinent information about the hotel's guests would be stored, somewhere hidden beneath all this....neatness.
His blue-green gaze swept over the office, pausing intently upon the woman curled up in the corner sobbing. She began to scream the moment her gaze fell upon him. Like most things that night, Alexander offered her only the smallest of scoffs as he turned towards the desk she hid behind - his fingers reaching out to shuffle over the papers and through the drawers. It took him a few moments to find what he was looking for but soon enough the man had pilfered a very important book from the contents of one of the drawers, tucking it into his breast pocket before he stepped out into the hallway and out of the side door. It was up to them now - he'd meet them when they finished their ridiculous little charade.
