North

Within the Northern vicinity of the city, the wealthy gather behind meticulously trimmed hedges and high-class architecture. The pristine streets are paved with stone and the storefronts are brightly lit and inviting - for the right clientele. In the North, every establishment is eager to cater to the rich and the wealthy. Many such places are used to the sometimes peculiar requests of the otherworldly but here there is little that money cannot buy - whether it happens to be illegal or merely involves looking the other way. Vampires and Dark Hunters are often found upon these Northern streets, their long lives often contributing to their sizable wealth which allows them the luxuries that the North provides.

there are as many truths as stars in the sky, and everyone of them different
perhaps that is the only real truth

In any other situation she would have been the one trying to assure him that all was well. It was in her entrepreneurial nature to assuage the opposite party for a happy consumer meant a paying one and Sorcha had not even a fraction of the wealth Dareios did. In time, perhaps her work could lead into a money empire, but by the time it did so she had no qualms in saying she would likely be too old to even care. Life was not counted in centuries as it was for the vampire before her. It was counted in moments and in times of triumph. There was nothing more jarring than the sudden realization of one's own mortality. She could have died that day, still could in this expensive place with this well-dressed man, but oddly she found his presence more calming. She had seen his fangs before and had lived - his threat had been an idle one and in that moment she had decided he would not harm her. If he had wanted to then she would already be pale and lifeless.

"Good," she says with a smirk, glancing at him and letting her hands slide away from their grip on each wrist. If Frost was around there was no way he would come barging into the house of a vampire to bother her anyways. With each passing second her fidgeting slows before coming to a complete halt, mossy eyes widening in surprise at his apology. "You are forgiven, although I don't hold it against you any way. I'm not sure what is normal vampire behavior and what isn't." And so she begins once more on her path of candor, outwardly letting him know that she didn't know what to expect from him and that she knew little of his species. It might be a folly but she didn't fear honesty - it actual was the one thing that soothed her.

"I suppose I ought to apologize for threatening to use my magic but I won't. It got your attention," she prattles, grinning suddenly and smoothing a hand down her pants in an absent manner that had become a nervous tic, instinctive and absolute. His office was decorated with bookshelves and everything was nice and ornate, drawing her eyes in fascination for Sorcha had a fondness for all things polished and old. Not to mention all the books he had. A whole library to himself practically. She would kill for that, her own wal-mart wobbly bookshelf overloaded with paperbacks. "Water, please."

The couch is comfy but as much as she wishes to lean back and relax this is a business meeting and they were still virtually strangers, not that such a detail would have bothered her before. "I'm surprised I came," she admitted in a softer voice, glancing down at her lap. "I didn't plan to but, ah, unforeseen events made me think of it." Once more she rubs her fingers across her wrists before glancing back up at him with a small smile. "I'm looking forward to it," she answers, about the money, because she needed it. Needed it to find a more secure place where she didn't feel as nervous to be alone, even if her cat was a fine companion. "So what do we do now?" She tilts her head to the side, feeling suddenly naked without the backpack and her potions that she had left home, perhaps unwisely.
