I've forgotten how it felt before...

Slowly, ever so slowly, things had begun to fall back into place. The ever constant feeling of oppression and fear had begun to dissipate for each night she was walked to the safest part of town, where the lights never dimmed and the traffic remained constant, and from there she found that every day had grown easier and easier. It was a funny thing how fear could come so swift and dominate so fully but then, with time, wither away like smoke blown from an open window. It left only a nagging suspicion that she should be paying attention to something, a remnant that hung like a ghost to her in the dead of night but lifted at the first site of dawn. It had been a few weeks since she had been in direct contact with Daerios, sending him a steady supply of her potions and offering up new ones by way of courier. A bit more expensive than she normally would have done yet Sorcha had found within her a sort of deep seated exhaustion that kept her secluded. While sales from the sidewalk had fallen due to this she was keeping up a steady profit from this new endeavor, not to mention that the Were's had grown used to her presence and often bought from her.

She had left her apartment today only long enough to traipse to the nearest deli and grab a sandwich and coffee, an odd mix to be sure, but one that she enjoyed. The coffee had not done the job for the moment she ate and settled onto her sofa she had felt sleep gathering like a storm cloud. Hours later her eyelids flutter and she shifts with an exhale of breath and an mournful meow to greet her. Her white and black spotted cat, Darwin, reluctantly relieves himself of his position on top of her prone figure and she pushes up and off the couch, rubbing her eyes. The windows are dark, with only the harsh glare of the streetlight to denote the time.

It was a waste of time to sleep the day away but she feels rejuvenated, a burning need to release energy. Partying was not her standard type of enjoyment but she had, in truth, very few in the way of friends. So she turns to business associates then, pulling on a thick jacket and a scarf before leaving her apartment behind. Was it rude to drop in unannounced? Probably, but her father had once told her that was a way to a measure a man, by his or her reaction to such inconvenient things like timing. While she had gleaned a bit more information about Daerios on their last visit, she still felt as if there was a lot to learn. He had quite a long time on her, you realize, and the faster she could perfect her skills the richer she would become.

It takes time to make it from her studio apartments to the Northside of the city where all the apartments look to be at least thrice the amount that she paid for hers and a helluva lot better on the outside as within. His door remains as it was, still ornate and lovely from the outside, and she pushes down the uncertainty at interrupting whatever he had going on. Likely he was out.. hunting? The idea sends a shiver down her back, one she studiously ignores as she mounts the steps and taps on the door a few times.
