He does seem thoughtful when I ask who pets him though of course I didn't expect an answer. He seems to consider for a minute or two before he shrugs and says that his pack and someone named Lucian, even mentioning someone petting his shoulders. I tremble as a memory passes through me and I look off toward the far wall, my eyes distant. "Pack never...touched me...in a way...I liked...It was....bruises and...broken bones...I received...for my...trust." I stumble through the words in my animal form, not even sure why I'm telling him this since he'll probably only argue back with me because he believes in his own pack so much. I can't expect him to understand. Only Raven ever could. He grins when talking about his own pack, flashing white teeth on a dirty but otherwise handsome face. Again I wonder how freeing it must be to trust your pack as he does. Of course he gets easily distracted by the plan he's got brewing and he goes easily to the door he wishes to enter, pointing up to a small window that I can easily get through. I launch upwards, easily scrabbling in and when I glance down, he looks almost saddened by my departure from his broad shoulders. Not thinking too much on it, I jump into the room and shift, going about opening up the door for him. Even as I move the crate on which I can reach the upper lock, I hear him ushering me to hurry. I scowl at the door, wanting to say something back but I bite my tongue, knowing it won't do any good. I finish up opening the door and sliding the crate back before I open it. He scowls at me, seemingly displeased that I am human once again, slipping into the room as he looks around but I see nothing that takes his interest. He scratches his head before turning back to me, telling me we need to go and commanding me to shift. I scowl at him now, my eyes narrowing somewhat defiantly at the way he orders me around like a slave and yet I watch as he turns to the door at the other end of the room and shifts himself. My eyes widen like saucers as he turns from boy to leopard before my eyes. He is a large cat for sure. He moves to the door with purpose now, ripping and shredding into the metal hinges. He goes through it within seconds before moving to the stairs. I wait a moment before, finally exhaling the breath I'd been holding before I straighten myself and shift back to the scarlet and black fox, too curious to leave now when it seems his plans are just beginning. I'm surprised that I don't hear his large blumbering feet on the stairs. He's almost as silent as I am. I move after him, sure enough in my power that I won't be heard even if I sprint full blast. I move up behind him, watching him with interest as he sniffs the air. He gets to the first room and shoulders the door open like it's nothing, moving inside where he shifts back human and starts going through someone's things. I shift back at the door, watching for a moment before he turns back, telling me to grab something. I look around at the things and wrinkle my nose. What does he want with gold and green bills? Sniffing the air, I move to the refrigerator, going through the shelves until I find the wrapped roast beef. Licking my lips, I grab it out and turn back to him with a triumphant smile. "I hit the jackpot. Whatever are you going to do with those things?" I scowl, genuinely curious. I've only ever stolen food since it's all I ever needed. What would I need with money and gold? I've always stolen my food. It was raised and trained into me. I don't understand what he wants with those things. |
