She seems happy enough that I accepted her proposal to have dinner, even allowing me to pick her up. As I stand, she stands with me and I scowl at her in concern, not wanting her to stress herself. "You make sure you do. It's rare nowadays to find a woman who knows what she wants." I chuckle and wink. As I move to the door, she starts with me and I shake my head. "Though you sure are stubborn. What part of rest didn't you understand?" Even so I smirk teasingly. At her sudden question, I shake my head again. "I can handle a little walking. Don't you worry about me." I pat the back of my jeans as if to remind her that I'm packing. With that, I walk through the door before she can change her mind or push the issue on me, since I have a feeling that she would. I start down the driveway, enjoying the cool night air. As I look toward the horizon, I can just make out the first few rays of sunlight breaking through. It's been a long night, that's for sure. How odd to think that I went into it despising all vampires like I do every night and came out of with perhaps a once in a lifetime experience, a vampire friend? It's hard to put a name to what Amelia is to me exactly but I know that I wish her no harm, something I never thought I would say about a vampire. I have a feeling that she wishes me no harm either, which is definitely saying something for a vampire and a fairy. I chuckle a little about it as I continue walking, making my way onto the side of the road and continuing toward the club where I left my car. The human cops are already there by now, sirens going and the doors taped off while they sort everything out. I know alot of this must be over their heads. There's ash in some places so I'm guessing the hunters got a few vamps before they took off after us. I guess that's a few less blood suckers in the world. Just because I met a nice vampire doesn't mean I still don't wish death on the rest of them. Can't expect me to change my whole opinion overnight. |
