North

Within the Northern vicinity of the city, the wealthy gather behind meticulously trimmed hedges and high-class architecture. The pristine streets are paved with stone and the storefronts are brightly lit and inviting - for the right clientele. In the North, every establishment is eager to cater to the rich and the wealthy. Many such places are used to the sometimes peculiar requests of the otherworldly but here there is little that money cannot buy - whether it happens to be illegal or merely involves looking the other way. Vampires and Dark Hunters are often found upon these Northern streets, their long lives often contributing to their sizable wealth which allows them the luxuries that the North provides.

No one can touch me

I am well aware that my name is unique. I came from a unique family. It was a loving one. I was close with my parents. Even though they were always busy they made sure to make time for me. I felt special when they allowed me to go on some of their trips or some of the galas they were invited to. It was fun to meet everyone and learn new things. I appreciated it when I was younger, but now with them dead and gone, I cherished those moments. I missed them. Truly I do. I wish they were here so they would tell me what I needed to do with my life. They would have helped me find a way to cope the fact that I am a Were, that way I wouldn't have made the terrible mistake of going with my maker. Maybe they would have been able to meet my Great Uncle and he would have felt like he had a family. He's all that I have left. I barely know much about him, but I really should try. I just don't want to listen to his lectures. I'm pretty sure I'd get another lecture alone for spending time with a vampire that ate his own species. My eyebrows furrow as I shake my head, not really liking he was making fun of my name. It meant something to my family.

"No, they were ambassadors of sorts, charitable, we travelled all over the world. Calliel is angelic, it's basically one that helps against adversity, helps to know the truth in the process and the triumph of the innocent."

My shoulders shrug. There really was nothing much else too it. My parents weren't too religious, but we believed in a higher power. Lately, I've been having my self-doubts, but I know I shouldn't. It is hard though. I mean let's be honest here, I met Alexander the Great and Anastasia daughter of the assassinated Russian Czar, pretty darn sure that defy God's great plan I think of morality. Not to mention I'm a supernatural creature and here I am speaking to another one. I don't know what His plan is, or even if He exists now, but I do hope my parents are okay up there, or wherever they are. I ignore his mention of me being old as I described the mall. As he browses through the colorful notebooks upon the shelves at the corner of the bookstore, I simply sigh and cross my arms in front of me, slightly amused that he was so adamant on wanting a plain old black cover.

"In this day in age Arlo, people prefer to show off their differences. Not everyone wants something simply black."

In this day and age everyone wanted to be unique and special. She knew the truth though. Not everyone was special and not everyone was unique. She thought she was when she was younger, but growing up in this world you soon realize the truth. If you cannot see it then you are blinded by your own inability to see the lies that everyone makes you believe. As he makes his purchase and he scribbles in his notebook, I wordlessly walk by his side not looking at the page. After all it was his notebook and I didn't want to invade his privacy. It was late now and it was obviously that the shops were attempting to close as soon as the last Christmas shopper left. I stuff my hands into my jacket's pocket as I shrug my shoulders again as he asked if I was okay getting home. It wasn't safe for a girl to walk this late at night, and yet I would not be a human girl any longer as soon as I made it to the East side. I'd change into a horse then and have a good run back home to the South. Besides, I doubt I was special enough for him to want to stay with tonight, he needed to go run off and do vampire stuff. With a polite smile I say my farewell and leave him to do, well whatever he wished to do. After Frost, I've gotten better at knowing when I'm wanted and when I'm not.

"Thank you, but I'm okay. I live in the South and I doubt you'll want to go that far. Your welcome and don't worry about the three dollars. See you around, Nobody."
