Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
Samantha Cassidy
It would be so easy for the empath to get lost within the emotions and thoughts that she seemed to be assaulted with - just as the Were King that sat across from her had done. His words may have been stated in that tone that was so devoid of any kind of feeling, but Samantha herself was completely aware of the panic and despair that ravaged her lover's body. She couldn't help that she kept her fingertips trained upon his flesh - first his arm in those tender circles and then by taking his hands. She wanted him to know that she was there. She wasn't going anywhere, and even though she was horrified by the things that had happened within his life, she refused to leave him by any means. The queen's breath hitched in her throat as he looked up at her to see that pity so stretched across her features. The frown that marred his own was enough to make her wince. "Aiden I..." She trailed off, her mind flashing with those thoughts of why should she pity him. It was that that had the girl pausing, clearly stunned by the way that the man thought of himself. If only she could show him how she felt about him, how she saw the man that she'd fallen so heavily for.
It was only once she'd asked about the dead vampiric woman on the roof did she get any more words from the man. His uncertainty made her scared, though none of that dared show on her features. She was so sure that she was dead. Staking a vampire in the heart would kill them, and if she wasn't dead she would be down here for him, wouldn't she? None of which seemed to be happening at the moment. No, Sam was assured that she was dead, even if the Were King in front of her remained so unsure. "She's dead," She murmured, one hand dropping out of his to reach up to touch his cheek. She drew his gaze to her, waiting until she had his full attention rather than the despair that plagued him. "Aiden, it's over. You don't have to be afraid anymore." It was out of nothing but sincerity that she offered to go up to the roof with him and be there as the life he'd lived for so long went up in flames. She expected he would deny her that, but what she didn't expect was the way his gaze looked almost terrified at the thought. She only nodded when he commanded she stay inside - she did that most of the time anyways.
"Okay," She whispered, her thoughts entirely focused on the thoughts he had of being forced by his Mistress' hand to harm the Fae Queen. Samantha was not naive enough to think she would ever win in a fight with her boyfriend, even if she was assured that he would never intentionally harm her. "Hey, hey," Samantha's words were sharp as her fingers stroked his cheek. She kept her tone gentle, yet firm, as she spoke. "Aiden, I'll stay here. I won't go anywhere. But that, what you're thinking... It's not going to happen. She's dead. And in a few hours you will watch and see that she is and this will all be over." She gave him a small smile. "None of what happened to you is your fault, Aiden. It doesn't make you any less... incredible. At least not to me." How she wanted to reassure him with the love she felt for him, though she was entirely positive that now was not the time to let those words slip from her lips. "This changes nothing for how I feel about you." The words were not enough, and yet it was all the Fae Queen had to offer.
Glancing over at the clock on her nightstand, she shifted back, finally letting her skin break contact with his. "There's three hours until sunrise, my love. I know you're too wound to sleep, but let's at least lay down. Your body needs to rest." She wasted no time in adjusting the pillows behind him before she gently pressed a hand to his shoulder and guided him back into the pillows. It was only once she was assured he was comfortable did she settle beside him, tugging the thick blankets up around them to keep them both warm. "Talk to me. Tell me how I can make you feel better?" She knew it was a silly question, and yet she still held some tiny bit of hope that her role in his life would be enough to help him through this.
