Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
With her lack of experience to games Raven was delighted to perform whatever trick was needed in order to please her deranged spotted feline. Games were something she just wasn't familiar with. Tobi had taught her how to play hide and seek, and although it was a delightful game, the lupine felt the leopard was cheating- somehow. With Alexis she learned how to play tag, something similar to hide and seek, only she had to run faster. It was not fair that with her larger size she could cover ground much easier to capture the scarlet fox and so she made herself diminutive, all to make it fair for her fox friend. A small part of herself tucked in levels upon levels of pains from the past, there was a glimpse of some sort of childish part of herself that was slowly drawing out from the constant need to play some sort of game among others. It was something she was so happy to experience, a small part of her craving this form of joy, if only because she was deprived so long from it. To play this 'slapping game' with Tobi brought with it pain and trickery. She thought she had to slap his hands hard, as he had done to her, even if she thought it was absurd. Though since she didn't know any better she would play this way, if only because Tobi showed her and his method must be correct...because how could she know if it was right or wrong? As she continued to tease his rough calloused hands with her soft fingers, she noticed how relaxed his body seemed to be while he wore that puzzled look on his chiseled façade. Slowly black claws began to appear, but the young woman was focused on his eyes alone, a satisfied grin slowly etching on her pink lips. Her ploy had worked. Suddenly she would slam her hands down upon his own, his claws retracted, as her hands slammed into his own. A reflection of pride could be seen, blue-grey eyes shone brightly with a rare exuberance of confidence. For once she had done something correctly, and even his scowl could not shake her.
It was when his arms began to outstretch towards her did her body begin to stiffen. Thoughts rushed into her head, telling her she had done it right, attempting to reassure herself. But always doubt came to, flooded her with the dark thoughts that she had done wrong. Unsure without how to react she moved her arms towards her, resting her hands into her lap, so as not to look as if shed fight back. As his hand and fingers began to stretch out, a wary look was seen on her mauled face, pink lips pulled back tightly to reveal her sharp teeth. Touch wasn't something she approved of. Touch only caused her pain. The only time Tobi ever harmed her was when he bit her hand as she tried to wash his hair. Jaw would start to pry open as an odd sound came from her, a growl of sorts, warning the boy not to get close. When his hand reached the top of her head, she would move her head forward ready to grip his forearm with her teeth, but she would grow still as his fingers rubbed her scalp and behind an ear. Not once had she ever felt something like this before.
A pet. So rare it was, but it left her with a warm feeling, and the need for this movement to be done to her again, being petted wasn't so bad. His words of praise brings the girls lips to close over her teeth, this time showing a wide smile, lifting her head some to the pat, proud to hear this rare form of praise. Approval was something she had so desperately craved to have, a thing so coveted that she didn't really know how to react to such a thing. All she could do was sit there as the boy pet her, a shy grin on her face...so happy to hear such simple words strung together. That grin would suddenly vanish when the boy pulled and held onto her scarred wrist. Attempting to yank her wrist from his firm hold, she struggled and only stopped when his grip would just get tighter. As his rough calloused fingers traced her hardened scars she would simply stare and watch, highly uncomfortable that he was putting so much focus on them and muttering unusual words. He would notice how intricate these scars seemed, jagged in such ways pointing in different directions ,some long or short, some trailing up her forearm. His words of play-fight seem to comfort her slightly. She had witnessed others within her pack having play fight, but she never experienced it herself. That they may not harm each other, as her pack did leaves her somewhat feeling okay about joining. Muttering softly she would take his fingers and move them along some of the scars he had yet to feel along her arm.
"All of my scars were not from play-fighting....they were from attacks....from everyone in pack.
Perhaps he may grasp what she attempts to say, that play fighting was not something she did or ever had done. That her scars were from the result of the treatment they gave her. It was his next choice of words that really made her eyes widen. Sex. This was an action she had never thought to perform, let alone hear that a pack of siblings and a non-blood sibling would implement such things to one another. It was something she just could not grasp or believe. Tetra and Naddy were panthers, thus they were true to the blood, but Tobi was a leopard...unrelated. The only way sex could be done was between Tobi and Naddy and this...saddened her. That he already had a mate seemed to crush a part of her that was so very hopeful. It had taken some time, but she was warming up to the idea of being much closer to Tobi. But if he already claimed another then he was off limits and she would have to accept that, whether she liked it or not. Unable to outright inquire about his choice of mate, and to see if it was even true, she would simply shake her head. If she was to join this pack...then she would not participate in such activities. Tobi was with Naddy, as she assumed, and if Tobi assumed she would take part in their festivities, or if his leader Tet had chosen her for such things after their escape to the zoo- then both boys would be sadly disappointed. There was a hint of pain that could be heard in her voice as she spoke aloud her thoughts and decision.
"Sex isn't a game. You are only supposed to do that with a mate. I don't have to have sex with everyone in the pack, right?"
As he released his hold on her wrists, she would simply return her hands in her lap, her fingers nervously tracing over the scars once more. Still she was wary of his touch. Touch meant she would receive pain. Although he had done no such thing so far she could not help herself. She was conditioned to know this, trained to learn that touch equals pain, and it would be wise if she refrained from such things. As he moved to recline and lie on her bed on her back, she would allow his head to rest in her lap. The idea that pack was family, was something she understood, but did not experience. The desire to be protected by a group of those she cared for, and in return would care for her, seemed like a fairy tale. How could she know what Tobi was saying was actually true? Sure, Tetra helped recuse her from the zoo, and she enjoyed Tobi's company very much, and Naddy was considerate at the shop, but the idea that these Were-Felines...species that was similar and yet so very different to her own...how could she trust them. If she could not trust her own blood how would she be able to trust others? Pack. It was something she desired secretly and that she had one with an invitation to join was a hard thing to stomach, but even harder to believe that the would accept her so willingly. She would shift her form some, helping him ease his head in her lap as she looked down at him, golden brown curls framing her face, speaking slowly and gently.
"My pack would not protect...they would always attack me...give me little food...no one would protect me...but everyone would attack me, always."
As the boys' arms and hands were held out to her she would stare at them. Blue-grey eyes hearing a mixture of pain and sadness would look into his own dark eyes. That he had already made a decision when it came to a mate was such a painful thing to accept. That soreness in her chest continued to throb. Part of her wanted to simply run away and cry. Another part of her wanted to yell and scream at him for stealing three kisses from her in the field- to engage in cheating on the female panther. Her morale compass rang true, but it could not help guide her in the proper way to deal with these sudden news. Nodding her head once, she would reach for his hands, tracing her smooth fingers along his rough calloused skinned hands. That familiar tickling sensation returning to him. A soft hum of a gentle melody came from the lupine as she simply focused on him, attempting to squash the agonizing pain away. Words paused, but gentle, speaking about something that did not match the thoughts bouncing in her skull.
"Do you like being touched? I...don't like being touched...everyone hurts me when they touch me."
I'd Rather Feel Pain Then Nothing At All
