Hawethorn Village

Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

Ain't life just awful strange

A new world hangs outside the window
Beautiful and strange
It must be I've fallen awake
I must be

Buffy never made a point to mingle with her neighbors or strangers, for that matter, in coffee shops or anywhere else. And she had no plans to do so today. But it appeared her "zen moment," which lingered in the wake of the yoga class, would be rudely and abruptly cut short by some dick with a loud mouth this morning.

The dark hunter snickered as she continued to share insult after insult in short, witty texts with her sister. She was so pleased with her own banter that she even let out a definite, audible snort in her otherwise hushed amusement. She inched forward in line as those in front of her slowly shuffled toward the counter. But otherwise she was hardly aware of her immediate surroundings. Instead she was trying to find a way to craft "babie doll" and "cunt" into the same clever insult.

Gia: Hold on. Some asshole is getting snippy with me in line.

Buffy typed out furiously in the wake of the stranger's remarks coming from behind her back. The dark hunter cringed at his mention of Buffy. She couldn't help that she assumed the nickname as a kid, and then in the 90s some perky blonde actress would forever become the most notable Buffy in pop culture. It didn't help that she was a dark hunter too, doing the same job essentially, as the made up character on a television show. This asshole wasn't the first and wouldn't be the last to make quips to her about her name and the show. But that wasn't what irked her the most about this guy. It was the fact that some supernatural character identified her make up before she noticed his.

Perhaps all this yoga was making her soft. Or maybe she was enjoying a momentary distraction. But either way, when she entered the coffee shop all she felt was human around her. Not vampire. Not shifter. Not another hunter, like her.

Buffy doesn't immediately turn around to address his quips. Instead she stands tall, the muscles in her shoulders tensing as she rolled them, one, twice, and then her neck, with her hands balled into fists. She steps forward when its her turn to order and pays for two large black coffees. She collects them from the coffee bar and turns swiftly on her heels to face the man, her senses immediately identifying him as a witch. She raises one eyebrow as she gives him a quick up-down, and then lazily tips one of the cups over against his chest, allowing the hot liquid to come crashing to the ground. "Whoops." Is all she mutters with a crooked smile and short chuckle, before she side steps out of the way of the mess and makes her way toward the front door, the other coffee cup clutched in her hand.
