Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
The Sun Also Rises
That sweet, demure woman was near defiant in her sudden rebellion against the very idea that she and Andras had been engaged in any sort of questionable behaviour within the park that very evening they had met. Dorian no sooner having scolded Andras then the woman seemed wholly determined to refute the idea. The Monarch hardly surprised in the slightest. After all, Beylani hardly seemed the type of girl to engage in such....business in the middle of the park in any sense. The girl hurriedly assuring him they had both been fully clothes. The Italian Fae glancing between one and the other in that moment and yet really he was far more inclined to believe Beylani in this matter. Women, after all, were far less inclined to those telling of sexual tales then men. Dorian rather finding he liked the girl all the more for the manner in which she hurriedly pulled down Andras' attempts, that ready amusement finding his lips then even despite his previous surprise. The other Fae at last admitting to his tease as Dorian allowed his eyes to roll before Andras suggested the real cause of their meeting had been Beylani photographing his wings and that he had promptly broken her camera. Dorian allowing one eye to lift upward.
"I am not assured that was exactly the action I would have taken but I suppose if you replaced it all is well."
A woman like Beylani hardly required such a physical show of displeasure. Really, from what he knew of the girl he was mostly sure simply telling her to be rid of that singular photo would be enough to prompt that very action and yet too- he hardly blamed Andras for such measures either. Several off his own affinities remained his secret alone. Sebastian and Matteo the only beings privy to his ability to command life itself and too those shadow blades that came to his call in those desperate times. He could so hardly fault Andras for wishing to conceal his wings. The Monarch's attention shifted briefly to his food, Dorian neatly using that cake fork to pry at that sweetness before the sight of Andras once more defying all measure of sensibility saw him scowl. Had Andras never been taught to use cutlery correctly! Was he not high born? Perhaps he wasn't and yet Dorian hardly believed him to be common in any sense. The Fae King quite unable to decide whether or not Andras jested or truly did not know how to use that cutlery (else simply did not care and found it amusing to taunt him). What a perfectly troublesome man! Still, Dorian could not deny at least finding some amusement in it all the same. That chuckle rising from his throat as Andras declared he might never learn.
"How fortunate you are immortal. I shall have forever to teach you."
That eye simply lifted once more before talk shifted to that wedding. Dorian content to have the both of them there should they desire it, that grin readily adorning his features at the delight Beylani especially seemed to take from that invitation. Andras too appearing decidedly keen to have the woman seated next to him and perhaps spend time, after that event, exploring Italy itself with Beylani as his companion. Did the girl even truly realise Andras was near courting her? Did Andras himself realise it? Dorian rather amused at the idea all the same and yet the ever-observant King hardly chose to mention it here and now least he cause either any distress with those things he was assured he might know before they did. He would need send them those invitations and dress codes in turn to allow them plenty of time to find suitable outfits befitting that social event of the year as it was so turning out to be even despite such a thing hardly having been their initial intention.
Dorian had so hardly meant to speak of those topics that Andras himself had not yet discussed with the girl and indeed that Beylani did not already know. The Monarch so simply having anticipated the young woman knew of that supernatural world after it had been made so clear that she knew readily what both Andras and himself were. It was almost curious, truly, that Beylani should be given to meet two Fae as her introduction to the supernatural world. Fae by far the rarest of those supernaturals species, most beings spending their entire lives without meeting but one and here Lani had met two! He was quick to offer that apology all the same, that look of curious surprise upon the woman's features hardly missed. Dorian allowing that warm simper to remain upon his own lips as Andras made some attempts to explain before he moved to add his own words to those answers, that look of surprise at a mention of his having a Godfather hardly missed and yet Andras hardly queried it further. Beylani remaining near wide-eyed throughout before the other Fae so queried that woman Dorian had once lived with. The Italian allowing that grin to find him once more.
"You are not more surprised than me I assure you. It is a most improper thing to share a home with an unmarried woman and I was distinctly uncomfortable for some time, but, when I first came to this city- rather by accident- I had no other. Samantha found me and were it not for her who can say what would have happened to me? She let me stay in her home and in time we became very good friends. I still miss her, I owe her a great debt, she chose to return home though and that choice was her own."
He nodded simply, Dorian so hardly baring ill-will to the woman in any sense. Indeed he was decidedly grateful to her even if their friendship had not ended as he desired. Andras' comment that perhaps it would not be unwise to meet with the other leaders of that city was met with a simple nod.
"It cannot hurt, in the very least, merely to be aware of them. Be cautious though all the same. From what I know the Horse Alpha is dangerously manipulative and the other one owns a boat that acts as a sort of Were-fighting ring and is apparently capable of coming back from the dead."
After all, was he not to act as Andras' advisor? Was not this the very sort of information the man needed to make those choices? Dorian offering that information simply before Andras' query of what Lani thought of Fae drew his own attention. The blonde woman seeming to recover then before commenting on the good nature of the both, that smile lingering upon Dorian's lips as Andras to assure she remained on her guard all the same. The Monarch's head inclined to nod.
"There are very few Fae left anymore but our species is well known for its cunning so it would indeed pay to be wary of that and too- some Fae possess tremendous powers, not all of them kind."
His own thoughts so shifted to Matteo in those moments, Dorian hardly ever having seen the man do anything unkind with them and yet he had seen the man do tremendous things all at once. Dorian shaking such a thought aside before that comment on Fae appearing so much smaller in books readily bought that chuckle to his lips. Andras sure she must have been thinking of pixies before suggesting they would all be more adorable at a few inches tall. His own eyes widening.
"I should hope I am never a few inches tall! How on earth would we ever get anything done? People would have to carry me about in their pockets! The indignity! I should not at all like to be that short and really I am rather adorable as it is. Many people tell me so."
That ready chuckle hummed from within his throat again. Dorian finishing the last of his tea before returning that cup to that golden china saucer. His gaze shifted from Lani to Andras and back again.
"Have you two any further plans for this afternoon?"
