Anacosta Heights

Hawethorn Village

Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

i'm not ashamed of my scars, i'm ashamed of the world for not understanding.

It was a shame that the majority of the public couldn't be understanding or at least accommodating to her mate. Where ever they went they stared in horror and disgust at her spotted companion. There were times when he walked around and clapped his hands together, proclaiming to her and the world that he was trying to catch those bright colorful circles that apparently were everywhere. Other times he was doing something that wasn't ideal. Like going into the store and climbing up the shelves to look at the items closer that were resting at the top of the shelf. There were times with he deemed it was acceptable to wear his t-shirt backwards, and no matter the weather, the man was barefooted. And when there were any children about he felt it was necessary to get on their level, and talk to them, get them all amped up, and then set them loose from their parents. The man seemed more at ease with the children than he did in a room full of stuffy adults, and if Raven had to decide who she would wish to spend time with, it would be with the children as well. Children didn't judge. Children didn't treat him terribly. They rather enjoyed his company immensely. Raven would be lying if she didn't admit that there were times when she wished he could act normal, and function properly. She loved him dearly, but like any woman she had her own desires. Like if they could go to a restaurant and he not have spaghetti entwined within his hair, or not throw a tantrum if they were stuck in a shop, because it was raining. The lupine loved her feline fiancé dearly, but there were days when it was difficult. Maybe Dorian was right, maybe he did need a doctor that specialized in children, but then again, she needed other doctors too. Goodness knows she needed her own sort of Doctor to help her overcome her own inner demons that rarely scratched the surface.

"I'm afraid I'll need every help I can get on finding a doctor, whether they are for adults or children. We would also need one that is aware of the supernatural world. Last thing I need is Tobias to turn into a leopard and scare the doctor to death."

Raven didn't think her close friend was being rude and implying that her mate was a child. He had childish antics, and maybe childish thought processes. However, it made sense that he would speak with one. Though would a Doctor be willing to speak to someone like him? Maybe, and maybe not. That Doctor would have to put up with a lot. Seeing a Doctor would be important for them to do. However, they had other matters to take care of...like planning a wedding. The werewolf was already in the beginning stages of thinking about the wedding. Already she had figured out where it would be done, already knowing that she would have to do it in the evening. After all, there were at least two vampires that would be in attendance of the special occasion. Dorian's advice on what sort of invitation to do, or at least think about, was appreciated. The man understood these things far more than she did, and she expected, far more than Serafina would know well. Raven even began to ponder the idea that maybe the Fae King so accompany her and the raven-haired witch on doing these wedding things. However, the man had just completed, or was almost complete, on managing his own wedding. There was no need to give him any more stress! After all he had agreed to walk her down the aisle, and Raven was sure his mind was spinning on the idea of what it was he would wear. Perhaps that was the best thing for him to worry about. Although really he could wear hardly anything and still look the best dressed.

It was calming in a way to simply pet Maxwell's ears. Her fingers gently continued to scratch behind his ear, finding it all soothing in away. It was clearly evident that the dog was enjoying himself being pampered with attention. Getting married seemed like such an impossible feat. It was not something she ever thought would occur. There was not a time in her young life when she dreamt of what sort of wedding she would have, or practiced her cursive with a fake new last name. There wasn't even a time when she imagined what her knight in shining armor would look like. No, Raven never got to think about any of these things. And now that she could, well, she had nowhere to begin, other than admit that it all seemed so surreal. Explaining this to Dorian wasn't her way or forcing him to reply with encouraging words. Rather she simply wanted him to share the joy she had. Hearing those kind words did make her cheeks flush with embarrassment. However, he needed to understand, at least, he needed to see with her eyes and understand why this was such a huge accomplishment. Explaining a brief snippet of her past to the Fae King was a way that the lupine was breaking a part a tiny piece of her, and giving him something to hold and learn from her about. A sad small grin appeared on mauled face as she lifted her hand away from the dog's ears, and instead, reached out to gingerly hold Dorian's hand in a comforting and quiet manner of saying 'thank you' for all that he was saying. She couldn't vocally say anything, because someone had interrupted them.

Blue-grey eyes moved to the other side of the room where there was a figure standing in the doorway. Uncertain of him she watched him carefully not sure who he was and why he was here to begin with. He didn't appear as some sort of staff. Rather with the way he looked, he seemed quite a bit like Dorian, those silver eyes were a dead giveaway. While they were discussing paperwork her mind was busy at work already deducing that something didn't seem right. If Dorian was King of Italy then why would his title not be Prince if he had a Father here? Quietly she listened to Dorian explain how it all was to be. Although when Matteo spoke about how the affair was excellent, the lupine couldn't help, but shift her eyes towards him with a soft glare. An affair hardly ever appeared to be 'excellent.' Affairs brought heartache and sadness, not joy. Although Dorian was the product of an affair, it wasn't his fault he was a bastard. Maybe that was the one good thing to come from this affair, but Raven hardly seemed to agree with Matteo's belief that the affair was excellent. Thank Goodness Dorian wasn't like his Father in this particular aspect. Shaking her head in disappointment for the older Fae, she returned her attention to the Bastard King, speaking gently to him.

"Well, I shall keep this to myself. Although with you two in the same room it might give away that secret."

Raven couldn't help, but beam happily as he explained that he would be the one to walk her down the aisle. It was expected for strangers to utter some sort of cheerful response when anyone spoke about a wedding. The mention that she deserved a good day confused her a tiny bit. It was one thing to say they hoped they had a good day, but it was another to declare she deserved it. Raven didn't know this man at all, and she felt it was rather odd that he was implying that he did. She had no idea that asking him how he knew her would lead to her friend becoming a bit distressed. That he had seen her as a child seemed quite impossible. A concerning frown appeared as she tried to dig deep within her memories to pluck the correct one that had any hint that this Fae was in her life. It was possible that she couldn't remember depending upon her age, and yet it seemed even strange that he would be able to. After all she only learned about Faes recently, they were the only supernatural creature she didn't know so much about. Taking a sip of her tea she attempted to poke further, not truly believing it was possible he was around.

"How is that possible? There were a lot of them inside and outside. And they liked to come as often as they could...to bother me."
