Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
Serafina had never truly viewed herself as a particular good witch - at least, as far as morals stood. She had no qualms about cheating, stealing, running her business strictly with her bottom line in thought, or even simply forgoing those daily small charitable acts. And yet, for all of the young woman's often cattish demeanor, she had never once considered taking a life for the sake of magic. It made her skin crawl to contemplate the dismembering of that poor feline that surely didn't deserve it. She eyed the death witch in front of him with a clear glimpse of disdain, the girl both unable and unwilling to hide her judgmental disgust for the woman. Even so, she kept the feline against her chest, the little cat easily distracted now that it was free from that cage it had been subjected to. With her rescue efforts successful, she was more than content to allow Azrael to lead her from that tent. She had quite had enough of that magic and the effect it had on her very skin. A soft breath of relief left her lips as she trailed after her boyfriend, following the man as he led them to the shade of a nearby tree.
It was only once they had gained a safe distance that both of their attention seemed to turn upon the small feline held within her arms. Even she was willing to admit how cute that cat was with its beige color and peculiar black stripes. That snort she was given in response, however, near immediately caused her stormy gaze to turn upwards towards the Dark Hunter with a pointed look. It was, however, her boyfriend's comment on the cat's small size that prompted that exasperated sigh from her lips. She near immediately informed him that the feral feline was not only African but also, she was certain, rather illegal to keep as a mere house cat. The little hunters were hardly meant to be kept in a home...and yet...she couldn't stand the thought of leaving it in that cage, much less abandoning it to the wild like she had been abandoned upon the streets of the city all those years ago. That dubious look upon Azrael's features prompted a small shrug to her shoulders. "I dunno, Raven's kind of like a house pet and you let me keep her." She responded in an almost teasing fashion, "But no, I don't think he's a were. He doesn't feel like one....he does have kind of odd presence though, don't you think?"
Her lips twisted into a small frown and yet, she could easily agree to keep the feline's presence a secret. She watched as Azrael's hand reached out towards that animal, the feline almost affectionate in that way he rubbed his cheek against Azrael's fingers. "I think he likes you." She commented in that playful tone, only to catch that beginning of a rare grin upon her boyfriend's features. Even Serafina had to admit the man was handsome when he bothered to allow that smile to cross his lips. At least, she was willing to admit it to herself, anyway. Her gaze turned towards that small, innocent cat in her arms. The poor thing was lucky they had found it when they did. The simple fact of it perturbed the young woman far more than she cared to admit. Azrael's name was softly uttered upon the young witch's lips as she began to consider that notion that had wedged itself so firmly into her mind. That request was, perhaps, peculiar from the young girl, if only for the simple fact that she had never asked Azrael to see to hunting another of her kind for her. And yet, for that Sand Cat, she was willing to make an exception, only with the assurance that her boyfriend would not be the one to face that Death Witch.
Her stormy grey eyes steadfastly met the amber hue of Azrael's own, the young woman entirely determined to ensure he agreed with her. Her head bobbed ever so slightly at that promise, those words precisely what she desired to hear. It was silly, surely, the speed at which Serafina had so sought to change the topic. The emotions of that request surely were upon the fringe of her heart and yet, she had sought for so long not to allow herself to develop those deeper feelings for the man beside her. Attachment was never Serafina's strong suit. She tended to run from such a thing, if only for the fact that she was eternally left with naught but disappointment and pain in its wake. Thankfully, that small animal within her arms was quite the welcomed distraction as Serafina declared it was Azrael's decision to name it. She watched with curiousness as he simply stared at the cat in clear consideration of that name she had tasked him to decide on.
"Arik?" Serafina repeated after him as Azrael finally voiced that dubbance. She could hardly help that blank look on her features at those syllables on her lips. That sigh upon his lips caused her eyebrows to raise ever so slightly and yet, she remained silent as he offered that explanation. "Hm...lion huh? Are you my little lion, Arik?" She inquired, reaching down for that kitten as she ruffled the fur on his head, immediately awarding her the feline's attention. Her gaze turned upwards towards Azrael with a warm simper upon her sweetheart lips. "I like it," Serafina responded in approval. It was fitting, she decided. After all, he was an atypical house cat. Quite the lion of house cats indeed. She could hardly help that glimpse of amusement upon her features at that inquiry of the feline's size. "Not very much." She admitted with a grin. "Quite the lion, right?" Serafina could hardly help that musical giggle upon her lips. Her blue-grey eyes turned briefly towards the festival only for the young woman to shake her head ever so slightly. "No....let's go home. I wonder if he'll eat normal cat food. I think they eat....mice in the wild? Or something?" A small look of consideration crossed her features as she glanced down at the cat. God, she was going to have to figure out how to litter box train it...she would not have her little lion making a mess all over her floors. Maybe she hadn't thought this through all the way...
