Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
Azrael
Only Fools Walk Where Angels Fear To Tread
That very roll of the young woman's blue eyes was hardly missed, Azrael merely content to ignore the gesture despite the fashion in which it irked him. She was a child and yet how difficult it was to remember that very thing on occasion. The often irritable blonde Hunter so content to remind himself that this veritable child still possessed a great deal off his own families blood within her veins. That very same hot blood that seemed to inspire her to be nearly as argumentative as he himself. The Hunter so forcing himself to ignore both her eye rolling and too that biting reply she seemed content to fix him with- even if those last few words came out as little more than a whisper. Azrael forcing that sigh from himself once more as his hand lifted to rub at the back off his neck, the man further attempting to contemplate both those words she had offered him and those he near considered offering in return. Her lack of understanding about the very organisation she worked for was clear and yet....even he was hardly oblivious to the insecurity of sorts that very near bled from the girl. Maybe she was one of them now and yet....she was still part of him too. Those very ties of family still binding them together even if he wished it otherwise. He still felt....something for her. An obligation maybe? He hardly knew. Azrael rarely inclined to dwell on emotions in any real sense. Calliel seeming assured Frost and Alexander would assist her if she ever needed it. Azrael entirely doubtful that Frost had ever assisted anyone in his life and yet he supposed that very comment was hardly helpful here. He hardly knew anything about her rider to reassure here there, let alone what she did or did not get to do, that was hardly his business- nor did he desire to make it. The Mounted Unit hardly an interest he chose to dedicate his time too. He never had been good at this...comforting business. His own words oddly quiet then.
"Maybe it's good your not getting to do anything, at least your not.....nearly getting yourself killed every week. Alexander has only just taken over operations though. It will take a few months for him to get it up and running. Given enough time you will probably wish you were less busy. As for letting them get you.....no, I wouldn't."
His own golden gaze was cast sidelong at the girl then. He attempts at easing those anxieties perhaps not the best and yet when were they ever? Those words true all the same. They had to be or he could so hardly have uttered them. That realisation tugging at him. He wouldn't let them hurt her because he...cared. Because she was still family. Even if they didn't exactly get on as well as they should. Maybe neither of them were designed for this. Maybe neither of them ever would be and yet at least he was trying? Maybe he hadn't sought Calliel out as much as he should have those past few months and yet....she hadn't come looking for him either. That sudden query of how things had been was unexpected, Azrael watching as Calliel took that seat on the lounge, his own figure easing further back on the arm of that sofa in a more....relaxed position in some effort to at least make her feel more comfortable. The tension within the air still more notable then he truly cared for. Azrael making that effort to offer his niece at least some insight into his life whether or not she genuinely cared for it or not. The Hunter content to list off that veritable stream of grievances he had with the world. A list that changed near daily with the man's moods. That sudden insistence his job was 'fun' prompting that almost amused simper to his lips. Fun was hardly the word he would have used. Calliel apparently surprised he would have a girlfriend. The Hunter eyeing her almost incredulously then.
"What does that mean?"
That frown readily seemed to find his features in turn, one eye arching upward in clear curiosity of just what the that was supposed to men. Azrael huffing almost grumpily then and yet, he supposed, she wasn't exactly the first person to be surprised about that relationship. Sera seemed pretty damned surprised about it and she was in it. The blonde haired man offering her that answer all the same.
"Her name is Sera. Seraphina. No, she isn't a Hunter. We've been going out more than a year now."
Calliel had hardly asked what Sera was. The girl inquiring only as to whether or not she was a Hunter. Azrael content to dodge that question in a fashion. The Hunter notoriously private about that relationship even if he knew Calliel would hardly disclose that information. It was hardly Calliel he was worried about after all. His niece simply knowing that information might very well see it pried from her thoughts by Frost or Alexander- the both of them possessing some sort of mind reading talent- Azrael damn near sure he didn't want to deal with either of them harassing him. The man easily directing that conversation elsewhere as his golden gaze glanced around that apartment before querying whether or not his niece had come into that inheritance. If she had she was hardly spending it on a cleaner. The very idea those 'sponsors' had spent some of it saw his features frown, a soft snort echoing from within him as he eyed his companion once more.
"Do I need to speak to these sponsors? You should have told me you needed help."
Pilfering money from a young woman's inheritance, regardless as to whether she was a Were or not, was hardly a crime he was willing to tolerate. The matter, in the least, seemed to have been largely taken care off and yet Azrael was entirely assured that, had he known, he could easily have quickened those proceedings. At least someone was giving the girl advice on what to do with that money know. Azrael entirely assured he knew exactly how it felt to do something mundane when you hardly knew what to do with the money we had. Calliel seeming proud of that assistant manager role all the same as his head nodded.
"Good. You must be doing well then. The Council hardly ever gets complaints about Alex's place either. They come in occasionally. Usually about Frost, if the description witnesses keep giving is accurate- the white hair is a give away."
His own head shook lightly and yet he so hardly chose to ramble about it tonight. The man making a distinct effort to simply....spend time in his nieces company even if he was hardly assured just how to do that. A silence of sorts settling over the pair then. Azrael folding one limb over the over almost lackidasticallly.
"Your not seeing anyone then? No boyfriend or....whatever it is Were's call it...er.....pack....life....partner?"
Well- he was trying.
