Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

Dorian Ellington-AragonaThe King of Italy

Dorian had not, in that moment, truly comprehended the sheer amount of distress those monetary figures might so inflict upon his husband or the veritable guilt that might gnaw at Sebastian's very morals as a being over such excessive sums at their mere fingertips when much of Italy so surely needed that money to repair those critical parts of its infrastructure as a nation. That Dorian, for over five centuries, had not paid any real heed to his own bank account was surely clear. The Monarch so hardly having made any true and determined attempt to gain such wealth so much as it has simply accumulated of its own accord after a life so terribly long lived and with utterly nothing at all to spend such money upon. A decidedly large portion of that wealth formulated through simple interest alone and the sheer dedication off his own Treasurer. A man whom had, perhaps, been vastly under appreciated until this moment. It was, surely, simple ignorance upon the Fae Kings own part that had so resulted in such copious amounts of coin. The Monarch having been required to perform no act of financial mathematics since the age of nineteen! His appreciation of that very number that rested within his account perhaps equally lacking. Dorian simply incapable of truly understanding a value of money that existed in a fashion he did not comprehend. After all, it did not represent an amount of gold bars or coins. The Fae truly unsure of what that number represented so exactly and yet too- he had so grown up within a time and place where it was the role of others, of advisors and treasurers alike, to keep track f such things and merely inform him whether or not he could so do the things he desired. That Dorian had not, in all his life, ever been required to truly take charge off his own financials was perhaps painfully clear in that moment and too- a stark comparison to his husband whom seemed decidedly stressed by the whole affair. Enough so as to become terribly British in that moment.

That veritable outburst was wholly unanticipated. Dorian merely inclined to remain silent and allow Sebastian however long his lover might require to express exactly what it was that seemed to distress him so. Dorian's own veritable ignorance upon what existed before him, along with that sheer distressover Italy as a nation, it seemed, had weighed heavily on his lover. The Monarch's own features inclined to frown softly in this new understanding of sorts. His husbands words, so at last, seeming to shed a light of sorts upon their differences in comprehension of the situation. Dorian so finally holding at least some understanding of Sebastian's distress as he so requested Carlo leave that room for a moment. The Treasurer all too happy to escape that veritable tirade Sebastian had subject him too. Dorian so allowing that amusement to linger upon his features for a moment before he rose from his own chair to ease himself onto the table beside his lover. The King waiting but patiently until Sebastian had voiced but all he needed to voice. Dorian, in that moment, distinctly more calm then his husband and yet in such things as this- the Monarch was so rarely prone to fluster. His lack of financial understanding perhaps made up for, to some degree, with that wholly calm nature the man so naturally possessed. His gaze so at last seeking his husbands own as Sebastian's hands fell away from his face. Dorian readily insisting he had all but terrified poor Carlo, the vampire near quick to assure he would apologise to him. Yet, it was so hardly the matter of Carlo that weighed heavily upon him in that moment as the Monarch so plucked that piece of paper from the pile before him, Dorian eyeing that number a moment longer before that soft sigh feel from his lips- along with that admittance in how long it had been since he had last taken any responsibility for his own money.

Sebastian, for his part, had become near notably calmer and yet still the vampires head shook in near dismay. Dorian wholly assured that, despite his words, Sebastian had not truly known how long it had been since he had performed even the smallest of financial duties. Dorian not at all above admitting his own fault in this and yet there was little to be done for those mistakes of the past here and now. Rather, it was that future the Monarch was inclined to inquire off, those things his lover had mentioned that needed repair. The very things, he suspected, his advisors did not tell him off through some misguided effort to protect him from taking over that leadership to swiftly. Rather, it seemed, they were inclined to ease him into that very task even if it were not truly at the benefit off his own country. Dorian wholly inclined to frown at the thought. That his staff possessed such loyalty towards him was admirable surely and yet should it be at the expense off their very country? Surely not. Sebastian's own gentle words so prompting that warm simper to his lips then as he regarded the vampire beside him.

"I will ask after these claims myself then, from the departments in charge of them. As for attending parliament I think you are right. It might be time that we did. That my country has grown so much, that our economy is so strong, is a wonderful thing. Do you know, I'm quite proud of it? Italy that is. Not for anything I have done, after all, I have done very little in five centuries. I am merely proud of my country, my people, how far they have come since I was last involved. I think it might be about time I was involved again- properly. Ferdinand never thought I could do it- I should hate more than anything to prove him right."

That simper so remained upon his lips at that soft declaration, those very words so laced with a distinct determination all the same. He could be a good King, of that he was assured. Especially so with Sebastian beside him. Dorian holding every belief that it would surely be his very husband he might need the most in those months to come. After all, it was surely Sebastian whom loved him most of all- of that Dorian held no doubt and yet too- it was Sebastian whom had told him the very truth of those things he so surely needed to hear. Even if it had been something of a tirade. That his husband cared so distinctly for their country was....endearing in every sense. Dorian inclined to consider several more thoughts in that moment before inquiring after whether or not Sebastian himself might desire to take charge off at least some of those operations he clearly felt so passionately for. His lover falling silent once more before so softly admitting that in this he feared he might only muddle things further. The lift of Sebastian's blue gaze to his own so readily prompting that softening of Dorian's features once more.

"Then we will find someone who does know, someone who will not muddle them- and appoint him to assist."

He offered simply, that very smile upon his lips aimed at nothing but reassurance in that moment that they could surely solve these very things. After all, just because they themselves did not know best how to begin did not mean that others did not. Dorian holding at least some measure of faith in their staff and parliament. The Fae King so proceeding to offer that explanation then on just how that money had grown the way it had over those years right along with how it was so he had managed to avoid both kidnappings and marriage proposals. Dorian wholly content to assure his lover he was almost cute when he was flustered and that distinctly English accent might become only more pronounced. The Monarch so leaning forward then to allow his lips to find his lovers own, his hand so entangling within those brunette locks to allow him to deepen that kiss. The Fae King so relishing in that glorious sensation and too the simple feel of the hand that rose to brush against his cheek with affection. How very right Sebastian could so make the world with such a simple gesture as that. Dorian pulling but gently back from that kiss to so offer that admittance that the gold that existed below had hardly yet been added to his own personal sums. Sebastian's sudden insistence he had something to show him prompting that near look of surprise upon his features before the vampire rose. Dorian's own silver gaze lingered readily on his lover then, watching as Sebastian searched through that scattering of papers to find a manilla envelope.

Those papers Sebastian pulled from the envelope were eyed with clear intrigue, the vampire organising them for but a moment before drawing Dorian's gaze to a singular amount at the bottom of the page with the assurance that number was all the money he had gained in his two hundred years or so of life. Dorian nodding solemnly with that understanding of the very principles of that number in the least. He continued watch then as his lover so took his own page, laying those two pieces of paper together to display the fashion in which Dorian's own balance continued on far beyond that of Sebastian's. Those numbers vastly different and yet- displayed before the Monarch in such a fashion that very difference, so at last, became abundantly clear. The Fae's eyes so lifting in that moment. A soft utterance so at last falling from his lips.

"Oh, my..."

That very number upon Sebastian's page was nothing short of significant and yet, even it was not so extensive as his own. That very realization so at last seeming to dawn within the Monarch with that very insistence he might well be one of the worlds most wealthy men. His own wealth so at last apparent to him. Perhaps Sebastian had been right to be so very alarmed. Dorian wholly content to frown at it for several moments still before that simper so at last returned to his lips. His gazed lifted to husband then to meet that ardent blue.

"We might be some of the richest men in the whole bloody world."

That soft chuckle so hummed within his throat once more. Dorian allowing his lips to press to the vampires cheek a final time in clear affection before he slid from that table then, those pages pressed towards Sebastian for safekeeping before he eyed that very door with a near renewed look of....purpose. His husband had been right. With such funding they should surely be seeking to make a difference, or in the very least, so beginning to look at those options. Dorian wholly determined that their time as rulers would be remembered as being far greater than Ferdinand's had ever been before them. Perhaps there were no wars left to fight or glory to be found in such endeavours as conquering, Dorin rather assured such things were not to his taste all the same. Rather- Sebastian and himself might seek instead to bring Italy more fully into the modern world and so on par with those other countries who stood so metaphorically tall. Perhaps it would be for that they might be remembered.

"Darling, I hope you are ready for this, you are about to see something terribly grand. You may desire to sit."

Dorian so gestured toward Sebastian's chair once more before Dorian himself returned to his own with that soft call for Carlo to return once more. The rather flustered little Fae man eyeing Sebastian almost warily as if he feared another tirade. Dorian offering him that near reassuring nod before so calling out to the guard at the door with that request to bring Benito, his own advisor. It hardly took but a moment for the next Fae man to arrive. Benito affording Sebastian and himself that low bow each before a companionable nod was offered to Carlo. The man promptly inquiring as to just what His Majesty so required.

"I should like to meet with whoever it is that is in charge of Education, Law Enforcement, Finance, Health and the senior ministers of Parliament."
"When would his Majesty like to schedule such meetings?"
"I think now is sufficient."
"Now, you Majesty? I am assured not all are currently within the Palace grounds."
"Then summon those who are to this room and those who are not I shall meet with tomorrow from nine in the evening onwards."
"Of course."

Benito was near quick to hurry from that room then, Dorian offering his thanks as the man departed. The Monarch rather assured he would hardly need to wait long for those men to assemble. Especially if several or so were already within the Palace for other business. Carlo wholly content to offer him a near quizzical look before the first of those ministers was so announced. Dorian so strientening within his chair then, his arms folded neatly atop that desk. The Fae King, in that moment, the very picture of royalty he had so been born to be. A near panting Benito ushering several more men into the room then with a hurried explanation upon who each was. Each of them bowing in turn with those utterances of Your Majesty and Your Highness. Each looking decidedly concerned as to why they had been summoned all the same. Dorian so appearing nothing short of neutral within his expression and yet decidedly calm. Such a meeting was not a place for emotion, rather, it was a place for work.

"Gentleman, it has come to my attention today that there are facets of this government, my government, that require addressing. Issues I was not fully aware of until this evening have come to my attention and I will be idle on them no longer. I shall require a report on the exact numbers of youth unemployment as soon as possible, you will have the funding for it, do not worry. I have several suggestions too that I should like to discuss with you later. You are the head of Law Enforcement in Naples, yes? I shall provide the funding for a task force, several if need be, to deal with this Mafia or in the least to begin to bring them into line. I wish to discuss this with the Hunter Council Head in this area too. If we can defend our cheese from illegal exportation then we can defend our own people. Tell me what you need and we will see to it. I also desire a review into the judicial system as a whole and I should like to employ a team specifically to look at this. When you can, bring me the names of people you think will be suitable for this task. You must be the Minister for Health? What is it you need the most? What does Italy need?"

"Ah, Your Majesty I....ah.....ummm.....We have three public hospitals in a state of disrepair but I fear it would cost upward of fifteen million to repair even one."

"Very well. Find out the exact cost of full renovations to each one, bring those estimates to Carlo and you will have everything you need. You may all leave now unless there is anything else."

That very room had been all but stunned into silence. Those ministers uttering those bewildered and yet grateful thank yous before heading out. That sudden simper so returned to the Monarch's lips then as his gaze returned to Sebastian and Carlo in turn. That look very near impish then as he so eyed his husband, those words wholly teasing. That, he knew, by far the most....commanding Sebastian had so surely ever seen him.

"I think I was rather Kingly just then."
